This is probably the first time I experienced waiting for an album to come out from a band I liked. It was very underwhelming. Very few examples of what I love about A7X are present on this one.

all the songs are good, requiem is great, but… am I listening to a metallica album? the reason why i love a7x is because their music are special, and now they make a metallica album… who will love it? those metallica fans.

건즈앤로지스와 메탈리카를 짬뽕시킨듯한 착각(?)을 불러일으키나 A7X만의 특징들도 그 속에 잘 녹아있다. 많은 이들에게 비판도 받은 앨범이지만 적어도 나에게만큼은 듣기 즐거운 음악이다.

The difficult truth to swallow is that this album is excellent. Classics like Shepherd of Fire, Hail to the King and the beautiful Comming Home among others make the album extremely underrated. The fact that it sounds like a "black album" caused all this hate, but it's a great heavy metal album.

Hail to the King is an album that contains both better and worse passages and elements. Despite this, the album is musically good.

최근에 들어본 A7X의 앨범. 약간 Metallica의 Black Album의 냄새가 났다(This Means War를 들을 때 특정 구간에서 Sad But True가 연상됐는데 실제로 AllMusic의 Jason Lymangrover가 언급을 했었다!) 전작보다는 지루하지만 개인적으로 the Stage보다는 나은 것 같다.

My most played album #312. Avenged Sevenfold - Hail To The King. It sold 500,000. 2013's Hail to the King was Best Rock Song Loudwire Music Awards, 10 Best Rock Albums of 2013. US Billboard Hard Rock Albums 3rd best of the year. Revolver Golden Gods Awards 2014 Synyster Gates & Zacky Vengeance Best Guitarists and Arin Ilejay Best Drummer.

멤버의 죽음이 앨범의 질적 하락에 한몫했다만...이건 너무 심한 것 아닌가...도리어 AC/DC의 Back In Black처럼 그러한 시련을 승화하면서도 음악성이 뛰어난 앨범을 발표했다면 이들은 보다 더 좋은 평가를 받았을 지도 모르겠다. 하지만 if는 현실에서 의미없는 거다. 쩝.

내가 이들을 좋아하는 이유는 기가막힌 '표현력' 때문이다. 그런데 이번 앨범에서는 중반까지 이들의 스타일이 살지 않고 그저 평범한 음악을 선보이다가 후반부에 들어서야 빛을 내기 시작했다. 개인적으로 킬링트랙이라 생각하는 것은 보너스 트랙 중에 St. James 라는 곡이다. 이 외에도 8번트랙 추천.

몇몇의 늘어지는곡만 제외하면 나름 괜찮게 들었다.. 대부분의 곡들이 싱글앨범에 내놓아도 손색이 없을뿐더러 특히 타이틀곡인 Hail to the King 은 수작인거 같다. 기타솔로를 끝장내게 뽑아냈으니까..

갠적으로 슈퍼 파워 몰락 오브 몰락 앨범이다 타이틀곡 빼곤 진심 기대이하다... 너무 기대를저버린앨범... 다음신보때 기대해본다... 제발 이건 너무 아니다 A7X 덕후 인 청자로선아니다싶다..

이 작품으로 이들을 처음 접했는데, 그 당시엔 와 이런 밴드가 있다니! 쩐다! 라고 느꼈었다. 물론 이들의 전작을 듣기 전까지만. 불렛이랑 사이좋게 패망의 길을 걷는건가... 제발 다음 앨범에서는 정신 차리기를! 일단 드럼부터 좀 ...
