preview  Daarchlea  -  preview  Suns (2014) (85/100)    2014-11-17
Suns After a long wait, Daarchlea has finally released their first studio album "Suns" which was released on August 27, 2014 independently. Yeah. Getting real tired of all the Malaysian metal bands today keep releasing the single albums instead of EP or full length album. I must say, this band is considered as "The Best of Malaysian Extreme Metal of All Time" after Sil Khannaz (if i'm not mistake). Although, many Malaysian metalheads are praising the album to be "the best album"

"Birth, the Beginning" is about every soul is promise to God that they are about to be born as a human baby who will walk upon the Earth. Well, it's a great introduction to "The Book of Heresy" which is very catchy modern death metal sound that I would like to hear, nothing wrong with it. "Qhilav" started with a gloomy introduction something like that. This version is even better and even more intense that the previous version. The clean vocal adds a lot of variation for this song.

Putra's guttural are just way more brutal than the previous one which was using the high scream vocal like-Dani Filth style so much. "Phase I: Tree" and "Phase II: Human" I can feel the atmosphere of Norwegian black metal element in there. Imagine when you hear this is like you're in a cold forest and there is some dark ritual going on and then suddenly, things getting violent and the evil entity has unleashed across the world to corrupt every living things on this Earth.

"Odyssey: Towards the Sun" uses an oriental element such as sitar and gamelan-like instruments that makes the song darkly beautiful. Kinda reminds me of Opeth's "Burden" and "The Throat of Winter" blend it together. But "Ascend to Arasy" uses a Malay traditional sound that sounded lifted from Aishah's "Bahtera Merdeka", with kompang in it.

I don't know which song is favorite, but I think this whole album is my favorite. They done amazing job for making this dark, beautiful and unique album.

preview  Carcass  -  preview  Surgical Steel (2013) (95/100)    2013-09-29
Surgical Steel Alright! another review for you guys about this album. Looks like they have changed their sound back to Heartwork era since 1996's Swansong. This is such a successful album and a great comeback from these guys have done for 24 years. Ok. Their music structure is too damn you know how Bill Steer make a really beautiful riffs especially "1985". Drums are pretty good and tight. Not bad at all. Jeff's vocal remain the same. The artwork of this album is great and look at all these surgical tools man... it's like 'summoning a demon who wants to operate someone else life' or some thing like that.

There are so many awesome songs in this album. My personal favourite are "Cadaver Pouch Conveyor System", "Noncompliance to ASTM F 899-12 Standard", "The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills" and of course "Captive Bolt Pistol". These song has such a magnificent solo riffs of Bill Steer. FUCKING LOVE IT!!! You can feel the energy of this is so POWERFUL! WOO! (sorry got lost myself for a second). Because of this album, I started to listen their every album and became one of my new favourite of all time! I also like them because they are more to down earth guys. That's all I can say... \m/ STAY BRUTAL \m/

preview  Suffocation  -  preview  Pinnacle of Bedlam (2013) (95/100)    2013-05-19
Pinnacle of Bedlam Let's get on with this album. Alright, the first thing I want to talk about is the artwork. I fucking love the artwork. The artwork was done by Raymond Swanland (Deeds of Flesh, Beneath). The lyrics are more to apocalyptic world, people who are afraid to die and everything. Terrance Hobbs's guitar riff are too damn gruesome and devastating!! This is not the ordinary guitar fucked technical death metal album but this one is really decent. With Dave Culross' drum signature are getting more powerful and insane (but I still love Mike Smith's drum signature anyway). Frank Mullen's guttural vocals are not bad at all.

My personal favourite "As Grace Descends", "Eminent Wrath", "Purgatorial Punishment" and "Sullen Days". Why? Because you know these songs are too damn brutal as fuck! But one thing I don't like this album is "As Grace Descend" music video. I don't really understand at all about that video. It supposed to be an apocalyptic video but it's not. It is just a metal bar and the TV is just showing about apocalyptic shit. That's all I can say... \m/ STAY BRUTAL \m/

preview  Humanity Delete  -  preview  Never Ending Nightmares (2012) (95/100)    2013-05-19
Never Ending Nightmares Another Swedish act is called Humanity Delete who formed by legendary death metal singer Rogga Johansson. It is an another horror version of Revolting, but more into Asian horror stuff. Alright the sound production is really good. Rogga's drum programming are kinda cool actually and I really like it. But this album has a mixture between death metal and grindcore, punk (some like that) and it is really awesome combination by both genres. The guitar riff still sounded like old school Swedish death metal just like his other bands like Paganizer, Ribspreader, Revolting etc.

The song title "The Jenglot" are one overwhelming song. Man, his growls are too damn good. The drum are too damn brutal. Dat guitar riff on "Dismal Corridor" was really devastating. The blast beat on "Dismal Corridor", Resurrection Rites" and "Frozen Apparition" is also pretty good, not bad actually. Evil crusty guitar solo from Lasse Pyykkö (Hooded Menace, Acid Witch, Demented Doctrine) on "Retribution of the Polong" was GROOVY... The lyrics are well written, thanks to Jill Girardi (the owner of Deadbeat Media) who wrote this lyrics. I LIKE IT!!! My personel is "Pontianak Part 1", "Pontianak Part 2" and of course "The Jenglot". That's all I can say... \m/ STAY BRUTAL \m/

preview  Bloodbath  -  preview  The Fathomless Mastery (2008) (82/100)    2012-05-16
The Fathomless Mastery After "Nightmares Made Flesh" album, Åkerfeldt had returned to Bloodbath and recorded this album. Yes, this guys were influenced by Entombed, Dismember, Cannibal Corpse, etc. This epic album has changed little bit became even more brutal and aggressive band that I ever heard of. "Process to Dissillumination" is one of badass song of all time! and make me want to use chainsaw and cut the people out! "Drink from the Cup of Heresy" is also one of my favourite song is that more gruesome and guttural music.

Unlike "Resurrection Through Carnage" album, this album has just a little bit old school Swedish death metal sound that does'nt have many blast beats at all. Well this album is really brutal to me. and of course "Devouring the Feeble" has some 'chugga chugga' thing at the intro. Yes this album is even darker and evil than I expected. "Wretched Human Mirror" is mixing with Entombed's Left Hand Path music and I like at the end of the song that sounded even more horror and evil. That's all I can say... STAY BRUTAL \m/>_<\m/
