Easily Cloven Hoof's best release, the band finally put down a great album with mature songwriting and gripping melodies. Nothing new here, but some great, Power Metal-tinged melodic Heavy Metal. Nov 1, 2020

A huge improvement over their debut, Carcass lean into meaty Death Metal riffs more than Grindcore chaos. Still, it's a very disgusting album, musically and lyrically, and really rather hard to sit through. Nov 1, 2020
SilentScream213 85/100
An amazingly heavy OSDM album with a slew of martial pounding that doesn't relent for a minute. I'd tentatively say, while not the fastest or most extreme, it is the heaviest album of the 80's. Guitars sound thick as molasses. Nov 1, 2020

Another great release in the same style as their debut. Nice Thrash touches on this Speed/Power release. Nov 1, 2020

Some real promise here in the form of very early War Metal, but it's super rough around the edges. Nov 1, 2020

Another really average Sabbath album. This one has some better moments than the last couple - namely "When Death Calls" and "Kill in the Spirit World" - but nothing that is really worth revisiting. Nov 1, 2020

One of Anthem's best albums. Every song is fantastically energetic and melodic. Brilliant guitarwork, brilliant vocals, a total package of melodic Heavy Metal. Nov 1, 2020

Accept get a new vocalist, and aim for a somewhat mainstream sound. Not bad really, but it doesn't match their better output. Nov 1, 2020

Fantastically brutal and surprisingly melodic Death Metal from the earliest stages of the genre. Oct 14, 2020

Yngwie delivers more of the same here. This one is maybe his most commercial yet. It lags behind his other albums just a bit. Aug 17, 2020

Raw Speed Metal from the metal masters of Japan. This didn't have much of their trademark melodicism and balladry, but it did have some really intense aggression and energy. They make up for their lack of experience with pure willpower. Aug 17, 2020

Somehow, Vulcano, who delivered one of the best 1st wave Black Metal albums ever, have gotten much, much worse with every consistent release. The music on this is almost unlistenable due to the atrocious production. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 80/100
The music is awesome here, but Snake opted for a much less aggressive and more lethargic punk croon so he can hit notes. It sounds incredibly unenthused, and really drags the album down for me. Aug 17, 2020

Cringe metal, but played very competently, and there are moments of truly awesome melodies. Aug 17, 2020

Vinnie slows it down here and adds a ton of layered, New Age atmospherics. Works wonderfully on beauties like As Time Slips By, but there are some dips where it gets boring. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 80/100
Polished and clean Thrash from Testament. Not incredibly heavy or energetic though, so it doesn't quite sate that Thrash thirsting. Great album all the same. Aug 17, 2020

Thrash not taken seriously at all. The music suffers as the band clearly are just having fun. Aug 17, 2020

Really boring and inconsistent, mostly grunge material. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 65/100
Scorpions shed their metal skin here. Hard rock at best, anthemic but not powerful. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 75/100
Saxon go full AOR for the strongest tracks on this release, and ironically, the weaker tracks are them trying to retain a shred of their metal cred. They nail the AOR sound. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 80/100
Strong, thrashy Heavy Metal with some slight prog touches as well. Very consistent throughout. Aug 17, 2020

Much like Born Too Late, Saint Vitus continue playing metal slow and lethargic enough to be called Doom, with absolutely none of the atmosphere, emotion, or compelling lyrics of any kind. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 75/100
Slight improvement over Under Jolly Roger, most songs are speedy and powerful. Really starting to embrace the pirate theme here. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 75/100
Riot's rebirth in a way, where they totally change everything up and play Power Metal. The speedy tracks are great, but the slower ones leave a lot to be desired. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 75/100
One of Rage's less impressive albums. There's nothing bad here, but the band would reach much greater heights soon. Generic Power/Speed/Thrash. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 60/100
Pantera's first transitional album. Most of it is still mediocre Heavy Metal, but there are definitely sparks of greatness here and there. Aug 17, 2020
SilentScream213 60/100
Ozzy's most laid back album up to this point. At least The Ultimate Sin had Shot in the Dark, but this album doesn't have any standout tracks. Aug 17, 2020

Wonderful blend of Heavy/Power Metal with influences abound, from Speed Metal, to Tech Thrash, to Prog Metal. Songwriting here is peak form, playing is technical and impressive but they still leave room for anthemic chorus and brilliant hooks. Aug 17, 2020

Underrated debut from Power Metal legends Blind Guardian is primarily Speed Metal with a healthy dose of Thrash riffs here and there. Great stuff, nice and aggressive but very melodic. Aug 17, 2020

Every song contains really great fast moments, and really mediocre mid-paced moments. Unfortunately that makes every song kind of inconsistent, despite them all having some great material as well. Aug 16, 2020

May 10, 2024

Vain Glory Opera" Apr 25, 2024

1990년도에 대체 무슨 일이 있었길래... rust in peace, painkiller, spiritual healing, cowboys from hell까지... May 7, 2024

May 5, 2024

May 10, 2024

7 days ago
