Good album by Alice in Chains....

2, 3집만큼의 포스넘치는 음악은 아니지만 런닝타임 내내 지루하지않다. 확실히 시애틀그런지치고 헤비하고 기타사운드는 데뷔작이라고 하기에는 정말 깔끔하다. 레인 스태인리의 보컬은 이미 이때부터 완성형이었다.

Almost a 95 for me. That heavy sound, which comes from the doom metal bands for sure, is amazing. Sea of Sorrow, Bleed the Freak, Confusion, Sunshine, We Die Young and Man in the Box and the best one Love Hate Love are out of this World. Perfect debut

2번은 꽤나 유명했던 기억. 하지만 필구 밴드까지는 아니었으나 후반기 앨범에 꼳혀서 취향에 맞아 자주 듣다 보니 뒤늦게 샀던 앨범. 이 밴드도 사실 꽤나 어두운 면이 있긴 했다. 나중에는 정말 그 느낌이 고조된 곡들을 선보이는데 아직은 여러 모로 조금은 부족했다고 생각한다. 좀 더 점수를 준다고 해도 80점. 75-80점의 새 시대를 연 앨범 중 하나.

이 앨범 강추다. 걸죽한 막걸리보컬과 스트레이트한 기타가 아주 거시기하다..

I remembered loving a lot of this album (got the CD back in the 90s) but totally didn't remember how well produced it was. Layne is on fire and there's lots of thoughtful guitarwork. Very good album.

시애틀 그런지 Big4 에서 당당하게 한자리 차지하고 계신 Alice in Chains 의 데뷔작. 침전되어있는 분위기속에서 축축 늘어지는, 그럼에도 탄력은 있는 기타가 그런지의 정석을 담아내고 있습니다. 초반트랙의 기세에 비해 갈수록 조금씩 물려오는 감이 강하게 듭니다. 이들뿐만 아니라 다른 얼터너티브 밴드들도 본 사이트에 등록되어있다는 점은 다소 재미있습니다.

It's pretty annoying to collude with a stupid nirvana. Jerry's composition is incredible. Technically, it's unfortunate, but if you lead the mood in the album and live, you can say it's already good enough. Don't doubt it. It's great. Perhaps, it has the most heavy metal elements in the band. AiC’s debut album and second album were successful. RIP layne.

참을수없는 우울함의 극치~

Mediocre Grunge album. AiC didn't yet have that darkness and aggression that made them unique.

My personal problem is that this album does not flow very well. Each individual song is as good as ones in Dirt or In Utero, but it feels like each song bleeds into one another at some point (not in a good way like What's Going On by Marvin Gaye, that album is so smooth). However, Layne's vocal here is goddamn perfect; it is painful to hear him crying out. So that compensates, somehow.

많이 힘든 사람들 들으라고 만든 노래

이 앨범을 메탈로 포용할 수 열린마음이 있는데 그분들은 왜 얼터너티브는 포용하지 못할까 하는 생각을 예전에 많이 했었어요.ㅋ

1, 2, 3 트랙 연타로 끝내주는 곡들이 포진해 있어서 기대감 잔뜩 부푼채로 다음 트랙들을 감상해보지만 앞 트랙처럼 귀에 착 달라붙는 느낌은 없다. 중후반 트랙들을 한곡씩 따로 들으면 참 좋은데 앨범 전체로 들으면 4번트랙부터 집중력이 떨어진다. 보컬/기타톤이 끈적한게 참 맘에듬. 음침하고 우울하고 끈적하다.

제대로 약에 취해 만든듯한 앨범. 듣는 동안 래인의 몽환적인 목소리는 지금의 앨리스 인체인스에서 뭔가 빠진듯한 느낌을 떨칠수 없도록 만드는 뭔가가 있다. 위 다이영부터 시작해서 bleed the freak까지 뭔가에 홀린듯 흥얼거리면서 음악에 취해버린다

뭐 그럭저럭...... 하지만 2집이 훨씬 낫다.

debut patrí medzi ich najlepšie albumy, tvrdý s dobrými nápadmi. Mix grunge a heavy metalu + aj vplyv Black Sabbath

어중간한 사운드지만 뭔가 자유분방한 매력이 있는 앨범이다. 2집보다 훨씬 많이 들었고 좋아한다.

이들 앨범중 가장 직관적이고 편안한 앨범이다...

2집에 비해서는 조금 경쾌한(?) 느낌이 드는 앨범

사운드가든처럼 음울함이 느껴지나 그들보다 더 헤비하다. 1,2,6,9번 트랙 추천

또 하나의 그런지씬 출현과 Layne의 등장. We Die Young 강력추천
