This album is very hard to place. The music is more Heavy Metal than anything, with generous heaps of Melodic Death Metal as well. And then the vocals and tempo are influenced by Gothic Metal. It sounds nothing like what came before, but it's great!   Oct 17, 2022

It could be said that this album is what spawned the entire concept of Trans Siberian Orchestra. Not only does it have (what would become) their signature track in Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24), but it's also Savatage's first winter/Christmas themed concept album. A wonderful hybrid of Speed, Thrash, Heavy and Power Metal that touches upon each of those genres in almost every track. Despite that, the music is almost generic and straightforward, but all members are at top form, and so the product is great. Everything good about classic Metal in one album.   Oct 17, 2022

Honestly, I'm not sure exactly what it is about this album, but everything just falls together very nicely. The Black/Folk Metal is done very well, but the traces of Doom and general melancholia elevate it further. Very solid release front to back, minus the interlude Mealltach. 블랙모어가 딥퍼플에서 나와서 좋은 것은 rainbow식 음악도 들을 수 있게 되었다는 점이다. 아주 아주 특이한 감성을 갖고 있는 사람이다. 아주 헤비한 락이면서도 부분 부분 포크적인 느낌도 있고 쓰잔함도 갖고 있다. 당대의 3대장하고는 다른 맛을 느낄 수 있다. 1,4,6이 대표곡. 3번은 quatarmass 9번은 yardbirds 커버곡이다. 희한하게 LP의 양면 라벨이 바뀐 것도 있다.   Apr 16, 2024

리치가 베이스를 1–3, 6를 연주했다. 그 외의 스튜디오는 밥 데이즐리 연주. 어렸을 때에는 1,5를 굉장히 좋아했었는데 문제는 5를 라센 시기에는 듣질 못했었다. 지금은 오히려 4번 같은 곡이 애청곡이 되었다. 앨범으로 기준으로도 1,2집보다 더 좋아했던 기억이 있다. 8번은 역시나 디오의 또 다른 보컬 맛을 느끼기 좋은 곡. 디오 재적시의 앨범은 영원할 것 같다.   Apr 20, 2024

3인조 코로너의 전 앨범 특히 2,3,4집을 좋아합니다. 옛날에 3집을 LP로 구입했었는데 속지에 시계, 스위스, 큰 글자로 '그로테스크' 라고 적힌 기억이.. 이후 90년대 중후반에 걸쳐서 전 앨범을 시디로 하나씩 모았죠. 30년간 신보를 안 내고 재결성 후에 아직도 활동하는 것도 특이한데, 그만큼 고정팬들이 많다는거 거겠죠.   Apr 25, 2024

오늘 하루 지쳤거나 우울한 분들께 보내는 아름다운 멜로디인 것 같습니다. 길을 잃고 헤매는 자들을 위해 어두운 밤 하늘에서 별빛을 비추는 느낌을 받은 것 같습니다만 아쉬운 건 트랙이 진행될수록 점점 앨범의 느낌이나 분위기 또한 늘어져 길 잃고 헤매는 느낌을 받았습니다. 그래도 전작이 너무 강해서 그렇지 이 앨범도 좋습니다.   Apr 9, 2024
