리프가 상당히 쫀득한(?) 앨범. 초반부와 후반부가 인상적이었다.

4번트랙 하나 정말 맛깔나게 잘 만들었다.. 나머지는 글쌔다 미적지근한 5집 이후의 4장의 앨범에 비해선 헤비한 느낌도 살아나고 지루한 느낌도 덜해서 좀 났긴하지만 2집의 아성을 넘기엔 부족한느낌이다.

팬들이 Ascendancy에 열광했던 이유를 정확히 캐치하고 밴드 측에서도 그에 충분한 공감을 했기 때문에 나올 수 있었던 후반기 명작이라고 생각한다. 직전 두 앨범의 경우도 충분히 좋았지만, 그 두 앨범이 그간의 부진을 포장을 정성스럽게 해서 만회한 느낌이라면 이번 앨범은 속 알맹이도 튼실하게 채운 느낌이랄까. The Phalanx는 정말 최고.

보다 칼칼해진 사운드와 정교해진 구성의 트리비움이다. 듣는 맛이 살아있다.

메탈 영재 Matt Heafy가 폼을 되찾았다. 패기 넘치면서도 뛰어난 작곡력을 자랑했던 초기작에서 발전하여 이젠 더 원숙해졌다. 화려하게 데뷔했지만 목 상태가 금방 안좋아져 라이브를 소화하지 못했고, 아쉬운 앨범들 발표, 인종 차별 등 불화로 인한 멤버 변경 등 산전수전 후에 드디어 2집 앨범에 버금가는 앨범이 드디어 나왔다. 앨범 자켓도 멋있어서 더 좋음

원래 트리비움이 곡 구성을 이리도 다채롭고 체계적으로 짰던 밴든가 싶다. 지난 두 앨범을 거치며 더이상 현재진행형 밴드는 아니라고 생각했었는데, 데뷔 20년이 넘은 밴드가 이렇게 새로운 느낌을 줄 수 있단 게 놀랍기만하다.

In the Court of the Dragon is the worst track- mixing blunders undermine the quality of this track and the track itself isn't even that good. However, Trivium dishes out some of the best tracks of their career thereafter. Such cuts include A Crisis of Revelation, The Shadow of the Abattoir, and The Phalanx. What really stops me from giving a higher score is that even those songs are not free from production blemishes. (+vocals in the chorus of Feast of Fire is weird)

개인적으로 코어 계열의 건조한 사운드 및 특유의 기타 사운드를 매우 싫어하는 편이고 Trivium의 이전 앨범들도 전혀 취향이 아니었음. 하지만 본 앨범은 드라마틱한 곡 구성과 세련된 멜로디에 프로그레시브한 면까지 더해져서 상당히 즐겁게 들을 수 있었음. 앨범 내의 전곡이 좋음. 사족으로 곡제목과 앨범 커버도 너무 멋짐. 'The Phalanx'가 최고의 곡
