I'll start by saying that this is probably darkthrones best album in a while, it's not nearly their original black metal style that they had and are known for but it's still a solid effort, it's a blackened little bit of everything, doom metal, thrash metal, you can hear an influence of everything but it's still not memorable because it's still not black metal!!! will we ever see another true black metal album from darkthrone. Who knows, I hope so though.

이 앨범 커버가 뭔지?라고 생각들이 정도로 전작들과 다르게 앨범커버가 상당히 대충 만든 느낌이라서 별로인가? 생각했지만, 그정도까지는 아닌 것 같다. 정통 블랙메탈이라는 범주에서 조금 더 벗어나 블랙/헤비/스피드 사운드를 잘 보여주고 있는 듯하다. 좀 더 원류적인 사운드를 보여주고 있다라는 느낌이랄까

한 1, 2년 내로 또 새 앨범을 낼 것이고 나는 들어볼 것이다. 하지만 이번처럼 헛된 기대는 하지 말아야지. 지난 앨범은 그럴싸했는데 이건 도대체 뭘하는 건지 알 수가 없다.

예상보다 doom스러워진 부분이 많은데 어떤 부분은 연륜으로 들리고 어떤 부분은 다소 지루하다. 이미 코멘트 쓰신 분 말씀처럼 더이상 Old Star까지의 수준을 기대하기 어려운 것 같아 마음이 dark해진다.

Overall good album but a little weak here & there. I think the vocals need more emotion at many points. With the songwriting, this album really sets a great mood. Less thrash than other recent Darkthrone releases. This one's kinda basically black metal with some doom riffs, at times rather Iommic. For me, far from the excellence of Old Star, but a little better than Eternal Hails. Best track - Kevorkian Times, tracks 3 & 4 are pretty good too.
