여태껏 발매한 음반들 중에 100점을 줄 정도로 개인적인 음악적 선호도에서 최고를 찍었던 밴드가 다크스론 이었다. 이들의 후기 작품은 애초에 좋아하지도 않았지만, 신보가 나올 때마다 적어도 한 번씩은 들어보려고 노력했다. 하지만 이 작품은 1번 트랙에서부터 너무 힘들다. 다크스론 초기작을 찬양하는 만큼, 별로인 건 별로라고 굳이 코멘트를 남기고 싶다.

I enjoyed it. Just not immensely. Hell, it's metal. Let's just forget we're hearing a legendary band and be thankful we have this album to listen to. What if we looked a gift horse in the mouth and black metal disappeared like by Thanos. We'd be listening to Taylor Swift and crying and eating bon bons.

지난 앨범부터 보인 행보는 이번에 진일보하여 매우 괜찮은 결과물로 나타났다고 본다. 좀 진정된 사운드에 귀가 편해지고 다채로운 곡 구성과 적극적인 키보드 사운드 활용에 귀가 즐거웠다. 장르 도장깨기 그만하고 이쪽으로 정착했음한다.

간만에 올드한 느낌의 커버에 ‘혹시 전성기 때의 음악으로 회귀인가?’로 생각하여 기대한 앨범. 결과적으로는… 낙후된 프로듀싱에 의미없는 지루한 전개 뿐이었다. 쿨토의 맛간 보이스는 덤이며 이게 이들이 하고 싶은 음악이라면 이제는 기대를 접어야겠다..
