Jason Becker의 Perspective는 단순한 기타 앨범이 아니다. 이 작품은 신체 마비라는 극한의 상황 속에서도 음악을 향한 열정을 꺾지 않았던 한 예술가의 깊은 내면을 담아낸, 말 그대로 영혼의 기록이다. 루게릭 병 진단 이후 거의 전신이 마비된 상태에서 이뤄낸 이 앨범은 단순한 기교 과시가 아니라, 순수한 창작의 본질과 감정의 진폭을 들려주는 특별한 음악적 유산이다. 기타 영웅으로 이름을 알렸던 Jason Becker가 이 앨범에서 보여주는 방향성은 놀라울 정도로 다양하고 성숙하다. 네오클래시컬 메탈의 화려함에서 벗어나 오케스트라, 합창, 일렉트로닉 요소까지 적극적으로 도입하며, 하나의 콘셉트 앨범처럼 구성된 이 작품은 진정한 의미의 작곡가를 보여준다. 모든 곡이 말없이 하나의 이야기처럼 이어지며, 생명, 고통, 희망, 아름다움에 대한 그의 철학을 음악으로 풀어낸다. 기술적으로도 이 앨범은 놀랍다. I respect this, and I am glad even Metalheads can appreciate it, but I unfortunately don’t really enjoy it. Also… this is not a Metal album. There is some electric guitar, yes, but the Neoclassical label is a misnomer and likely only attached due to Becker’s past.
What we have instead is a New Age Modern Classical album, full of synthed instruments that still sound a bit cheap, but are composed nicely. I do actually like myself some nice New Age, but only when it is emotionally provocative. This is more like… putting notes together for the sake of it. It doesn’t achieve any nice moods or atmospheres. Which was exactly like his guitar playing, and I wasn’t a fan for the same reason. I like the song Blue, but that’s it.
It's at least consistent in quality, there aren’t any bad tracks per say, it’s just a style that doesn't much appeal to me. Props to its development though.

그 뛰어난 연주를 듣지 못하는 것과 함께 메탈성향이 줄었다는게 아쉽지만 열정만으로 이런 결과물을 냈다는 점에서 큰 박수를 주고 싶다. End Of The Beginning은 진짜 좋은 트랙

속주 기타나 메탈사운드에 대한 비중이 크지 않기에 메탈킹덤 평점은 높이 줄 수가 없다. 하지만 기타리스트가 아닌 뮤지션 Jason Becker의 앨범으로 놓고 본다면 큰 감동과 여운이 느껴지는 수작
