다소 실망감을 안겨준 Periphery와는 달리 5년만에 새앨범을 선보인 Tesseract는 엄청났다. 모든 앨범들마다 지루한 면이 있었는데 이번 작품은 완급조절이 매우 잘 되어있어서 짧은 곡이든 긴 곡이든 지루함을 느낄 새가 없다. 2023년 하반기 TOP5 안에 들어갈 명반이라 쉽게 말할 수 있으며 개인적으로 Natural Disaster, Echoes, Legion, War of Being, Sirens, Burden를 추천한다

테서렉트의 초기작부터 최근작까지의 스타일을 잘 버무려낸 2023년 마스터피스. 리듬 쪼개기에만 치중해 진부했던 젠트씬에 국한되지 않고 그들만의 몽환적인 스타일을 확립할 수 있는 것도 보컬 대니얼 톰킨스의 다채로운 표현력이 크게 기여했기 때문이라 본다. 후반부 곡 sirens에선 대니엘 톰킨스의 첫 솔로 앨범에서 시도했던 아트팝의 면모도 보인다.

이전 TesseracT의 앨범들에서 느껴졌던 밴드 특유의 지루함이 웅장함으로 치환되었다고 생각하면 될 듯하다. 음... 사실 그냥 완벽하다는 뜻이다.

I loved this one so much, and this great album helps tip 2023 toward being a huge year for metal. I'm wondering if TesseracT gets overlooked by people looking for extremely heavy progressive metal. Well, this music has what they're looking for.
