밴드 결성 당시의 보컬인 Daniel Tompkins를 다시 영입하여 새롭게 판을 짠 Tesseract의 3집. 2집의 보컬리스트와 음색이 유사하여 이질감이 느껴지지도 않고, 다소 호흡이 길었던 전작에 비해 캐치한 구성이 도드라진다. 앨범 전체의 분위기가 우울하고 슬프지만 사운드가 밝은 편이라 디프레시브한 Djent로 보기는 어렵다. 6번 트랙 Phoenix의 구성이 특기할만한데, 리드미컬한 코러스 이후에 조성과 속도를 바꾸어 읊조리는 듯한 진행을 보여주며 완급조절을 해내고 있다. 트랙 단위로 보면 Periphery, Protest the Hero와 같은 모던 헤비니스/코어의 청량감을 얻기는 힘들지만 앨범 단위로는 그들에게 전혀 꿀릴 것이 없다. 여러모로 현세의 프록메탈이 팝의 감수성을 다루는 방법 중 하나라는 생각이 든다.

I love this one. There's a lot of metal, and all kinds of music, that gets really sentimental and makes you feel kinda embarrassed to listen to around certain company. Bands like Tesseract manage to get really sentimental without the cringiness. Also, I can tell by listening to this that Tesseract only considers a song as the final version if it truly works. I wish all bands would try to do the same.

올해 가장 실망한 앨범이라고나 할까... 너무 몽환에 치우친것 같다. 너무 무거워서 이들 특유의 리듬감을 느끼기도 전에 지루해서 끄게한다.
