전작 Oceanic 에 이은 또 하나의 명반 Panopticon 이다. Isis 의 음악을 듣다보면 나도 모르게 선 굵은 리프가 만들어내는 리듬에 몸을 맡기게 되는데 순간 나른해지는 느낌과 동시에 아론터너의 거친 보컬이 합세하는 파트에서는 음악을 들으면서 느낄 수 있는 극한의 카타르시스를 맛볼 수 있다. 관조적이면서도 진지한 분위기에서 격정적인 단계로 넘어가는 연주를 감상해보면 자아를 초월한 궁극의 희열을 경험하게 될 것이다.

Wow, very progressive album with this special energy. Listen and you can tell that when they recorded this one, they were 100% ready to play the material. The album shares a name with another major American artist, and the band shares a name with one of the coolest mythological characters. It's cool how it all comes together on such a good album.

세련된 기타/베이스 리프와 둔탁하기 짝이없는 드럼 진행은 2010년대 중후반 포스트록의 문법이 어디에 뿌리를 두고 있는지 알려준다.

이들만의 꿈 속에서 둥둥 떠다니는 것 같은 분위기는 과연 타의 추종을 불허한다. 물 흐르는 듯한 자연스러운 전개 덕에 한 시간 내내 쭉 듣는데도 부담이 없다. 여기에 연주 비중이 큰 것 역시 아주 마음에 들었으며, 그렇다고 해서 보컬이 별로인 것도 아니고 분위기에 맞게 아주 잘 파고든다.

거칠지만 지저분하지않은 사운드, 대단하다. 러닝타임이 길어서 듣기 쫌 부담스럽지만 러닝타임이 짧았다면 이런 평가를 할순 없을것같다.
