Overall, it's a winner. I can't get enough of the song Stigmata and the part where he says "I will... break... your... spine... oof." The entire album might be a little slow for some people, but a lot of aggression can be felt in the downtempo music of this album. Jun 16, 2021

So good for its time, but unless you can really pay attention to this album, it's hard to distinguish between songs. Jun 15, 2021

It's easy to see why Molotov Solution got the spotlight for this album. I don't think it's their best work, but there's certainly nothing wrong with it. The vocals were a bit tedious, but this was also during the peak generic deathcore years where a lot of the bands sounded alike. Someone should definitely fix the title of the album since it's misspelled though. Jun 15, 2021

They'll always be one of my favorites, but this album in particular really grabbed me because of the lyrics. It's a shame they never released anything after this album, but Nick can be found doing guest spots (a favorite is the Signs of the Swarm song, The Collective). Jun 15, 2021

A good release from this band. I like this album much better than their earlier work. A combination of mids and lows for vocals along with some strong chug riffs make for an entertaining block of time. They walk the line between deathcore and downtempo so it can be a slower pace, but not so much that you get bored. Jun 15, 2021

I hated this when it first released. I just thought Mike Patton was trying to profit on some shock value, but after I listened a few times, it grew on me and I started to understand it's just the vision of a couple of guys who wanted to do whatever they wanted despite what people would say. The majority of this album is beyond enjoyable and it puts a smile on my face because it's just that goofy. This is only one of two of their albums I like though. Jun 15, 2021

Phenomenal band and a great culmination of their recent work. Hard and heavy with no end in sight. I hope they never change. Jun 13, 2021

I'll never understand why Lorna Shore fanboys worship this band. It's a decent song, but nothing worthy of praise. As for the new singer, I never really liked him in his old band either so no change of opinion there. Blackened deathcore is a nice change of pace, but I think Mental Cruelty executes it far better. Love it. I know these guys are busy with their own bands, but they need to keep making more music together because everything is pure gold. Jun 1, 2021

This is one of the best splits in the genre. I do tend to like the Hollow Prophet songs a little more than the Scumfuck songs, but that doesn't make any of them bad. It's the all-star team of deathcore and they don't disappoint. Jun 1, 2021

I absolutely love this band. Vocals are at the top of the game, but the guitars and drums are a perfect match. Everything about this band blends well. Jun 1, 2021

Love this album. Of course, like most people, I discovered this band because of a meme online that included the Dog Eat Dog song dubbed over a preacher going crazy, but the album took no time in winning me over. This album gets a listen on a regular basis. Arf arf. May 12, 2021

Embodiment is more than a title of this album for me. It literally embodies all the intricacies of slamming deathcore that I love. The vocals and instruments are the peanut butter and jelly of music, especially with all the guest spots. Perfect together anytime. So glad I found this album. Really hoping these guys put out a lot of music in the future. Definitely worth a listen. May 11, 2021

I know the purists love "Somatic" and "Exile," but as far as I'm concerned, this album was their peak. Long before Bozeman did cleans and all they cared about was merchandising, this album represented all things whitechapel and their harsh sound which separated the metal fans from the deathcore fans. Hard to rate. I'm still not a full slam fan, but I never thought I'd be listening to deathcore back when I was all about Slayer and Metallica. I can listen to Organectomy or Korpse, but this is still out of my range. I like the music, but the gurgles are still too much. May 8, 2021

Very "not impressed." I couldn't figure out why this album didn't grab my interest for the longest time, but it finally hit me; there's a lot more mids in the vocals and a lot less lows. And they actually have cleans, which will lose my interest every time. That combined with the djent-like guitar riffs make it sound like every other one hit wonder band that came out over the last 10 years. This one just isn't a winner. May 7, 2021

This is really the only album of Cannibal Corpse worth owning. It was Barnes' best vocals and once he left, they took on a newer, different sound. Mar 30, 2021

So good, and just enough away from the "Thall" style that bores listeners. This band has been good from their beginnings and continue to produce hard and heavy sounds which delight their fans. Mar 12, 2021

I want to like this band, but they refuse to give me a reason. And what's with everyone in black, but the drummer wearing face paint and a T-shirt with words on it? Seems a bit out of place. Oh well. Mar 12, 2021

I'm definitely one of those people who say "I like their old stuff better" when it comes to this band. I can't help but feel inundated by the screeching and computer generated noise, but I'm sure the progressive folks will just say I'm stuck in the past. They found a niche and they're doing their own thing. Good on them. Mar 6, 2021

A much anticipated track with a different sound. Elements of black metal combined with traditional brutal slam. Quite a long solo at the end making an unexpected addition. Mar 2, 2021

7 days ago

The importance of "Holy Diver" to the metal world cannot be underestimated. Ronnie James Dio showed the world that he is capable of conjuring up a band that makes such diamond-heavy music that weaker ones will still be horrified decades later. Thank you Ronnie James Dio. You were the biggest and the greatest and you will never be forgotten. Apr 7, 2024

"Sacred Heart" does not quite rise to the sharpest peak of Dio's production, and on the next album "Dream Evil" we heard the band's strongest performance after the debut album "Holy Diver". However, "Sacred Heart" should not be skipped under any circumstances and it is an underrated work in terms of its best moments. If for some reason you haven't heard it yet, fans of classic heavy metal should check out the work now at the latest. Apr 7, 2024
