Near perfect. Between the vocals having a great range from raspy highs to absolute guttural lows and the sci-fi sounding atmosphere, this album fires on all cylinders. It combines many genres to form a nearly perfect end product where almost anyone should be able to find something they like within. For a two man project, this should be the high end of the spectrum as far as goals. Definitely worth a thorough listen. My only criticism would be it does tend to blend together. Dec 24, 2021

I LOVE this album. It gets regular play every week. Unfortunately, he spends a lot of time doing covers of songs from different genres so this has been the only original material thus far. Such a talented guy and his vocals are fantastic with plenty of gnarl and texture. He's also the singer for Abyss Walker so check them out. Dec 21, 2021

Glad to see this band back together. Although there's been some lineup changes since the reformation, their sound remains unchanged. Considering their previous releases were fairly good, this is in line with them. It's not their best work, but it has a pure deathcore sound which is likeable, but could be considered generic at this point of deathcore's existence. Dec 19, 2021

Not a big fan of the clean vocals, but they're minimal and the group put together a very solid song. Would like to see more from them. Dec 17, 2021

This band will always be one of the leaders of downtempo deathcore. Although I do prefer previous releases, there's nothing wrong with this album and listening to it in its entirety will generally provide enjoyment. Sometimes it can tough to listen to downtempo albums as a whole in one sitting though. Dec 16, 2021

Decent release, but to be perfectly honest, I was more drawn to this track because of the guest appearance. Dec 16, 2021

Awful. This band is circling the bowl. Dec 16, 2021

Even though there's only one original member left, I feel like their style has changed just enough to make them better. I never minded their older material, but this is much closer to a deathcore sound rather than the standard issue death metal. Dec 11, 2021

If you're feeling good or happy and need to reign it in a little, listen to this band. It's completely designed for depressed people with no coping skills which will only justify their miserable existence. 5 out of 5 yawns. Dec 9, 2021

Not impressed by this album at all, but then again, I was never much of a fan. The title track is phenomenal and definitely has a "end of the world" feel to it, but the rest of the album reminds me of a video game soundtrack. Dec 5, 2021

Great slam album for beginners. Plenty of good samples and overall, a fairly simple listening experience. Nov 26, 2021

This is good brutal deathcore for stoners. Definitely worth a listen even if you don't smoke, but the intricacies are more easily picked up if you partake. Overall, this will be in the regular rotation of playlists. "You Can't Kill Us" and the title track are the leaders of this EP. Nov 21, 2021

It's a shame this band stopped putting out music because they definitely mastered the sound of that era, but Marcus and his talent joining Acranius in 2021 has been a great revitalizing effort. Nov 16, 2021

Although this band serves as a guilty pleasure for many people, this album doesn't bring any new reasons to the table to reincarnate any regular listening. If anything, the only purpose this album serves is to remind people to listen to their older material when they were relevant. Nov 4, 2021

I'm beyond impressed with this album, especially considering their previous works. This fits the mold to my tastes of chug riffs and superior vocal skills. I'll be listening to this for a while. Oct 23, 2021

Although I'm not a huge fan of this genre, I can still appreciate the talent it takes to make it. That being said, I'd much rather listen to this band than the so-called leaders of the genre, Lorna Shore. The production is good and not overdone and the entire album has a great flow to it. Huge fan of this style. Gutrectomy does it simply and well. Also of note is the guest vocal spots on this EP. Oct 5, 2021

Wow. I haven't listened to these guys since they first took over the metal scene back in the 80's. I liked it back then, but I don't listen to this genre anymore. Unfortunately, this sounds like a track from an 80s movie soundtrack. I'm sure the 40+ year old fans are hanging on to every note, but this is lucky to even get an "average" rating. Sep 28, 2021

I'm not sure why people are hyped about this band lately. Their new material sounds completely computer generated and has more layers than a wedding cake. It's overproduced and it'll take more than a youtube metal short film to make the song better. Overall, their old material still holds value, but I don't see their new stuff being on any playlists of mine anytime soon. Sep 22, 2021

So good. Their best release yet and I still think they'll get even better. There's just something about that pan flute metal. Sep 21, 2021

There's not much to praise here other than Dickie Allen's vocals. If you were to remove the vocals, you're left with the same old boring Andrew Zink product that just doesn't deliver anything but yawns. This album is a disappointment even compared to their split with Hollow Prophet. Sep 20, 2021

I'm not a huge fan of blackened deathcore genre, but there's a few bands that stand out. This is a great album, but it's not quite the album I'd go out of my way to play. If it comes up on a random shuffle, that's great, but this style is best in small doses for me. Sep 20, 2021

You won't find it on youtube or any other popular spot, but it's worth the effort of some searching. Too bad they had to split because this album is some of their better stuff. Sep 20, 2021

You could probably walk away from this song forever if you only listened to it for a few seconds, but if you play it for longer, your head will be moving and you might as well turn the repeat button on. I wasn't a huge Hypa Hypa fan, but this is pretty decent. Sep 11, 2021

Lorna Shore songs are very well put together, but it's never been my sort of thing. Every song sounds exactly the same with predictable intros, solos, breakdowns, and endings. Aug 17, 2021

Typical Attila release. Awful lyrics, standard riffs, and a general feeling of disgust. One can only hope this is true closure and they stop making music. There's a couple of moments where they might fool you into trying to like a song, but it'll have no staying power. They started as a band designed to allure teenagers and nothing has changed.

Apr 29, 2024

The importance of "Holy Diver" to the metal world cannot be underestimated. Ronnie James Dio showed the world that he is capable of conjuring up a band that makes such diamond-heavy music that weaker ones will still be horrified decades later. Thank you Ronnie James Dio. You were the biggest and the greatest and you will never be forgotten. Apr 7, 2024

"Sacred Heart" does not quite rise to the sharpest peak of Dio's production, and on the next album "Dream Evil" we heard the band's strongest performance after the debut album "Holy Diver". However, "Sacred Heart" should not be skipped under any circumstances and it is an underrated work in terms of its best moments. If for some reason you haven't heard it yet, fans of classic heavy metal should check out the work now at the latest. Apr 7, 2024
