Brutal Truth was formed by Dan Lilker in 1990. The band split-up in 1998 and reformed in 2006 with a new guitar player. The band split up again on Dan Lilker's 50th birthday on October 18th, 2014.

The Guiness Book of Records 2001 has officially crowned Brutal Truth's video for "Collateral Damage" The Shortest Music Video ever - the video clip, produced in 1994, is a record-breaking 2.18 seconds-long.
