Pacing is a strong element that Ingested has always been successful with and that is showcased in the first half, especially. However that sort of takes a turn by the end with last part of the album drags into a death doom metal sound. An experiment that could have worked better if they had a little bit more aggression in them to blend with the rest of the album’s tone. This is still, another solid addition from the band and will not disappoint. Nov 8, 2022

These guys always know what to do so well. Masters of Deathcore, hands down. Nov 8, 2022
SlothLord 80/100
Not perfect, but I want to see how far they can take it from here. It’s uniquely balanced of everything a Deathcore fan loves. Nov 8, 2022

This is a relentless, brutal album that deserves attention. Worm Shepherd have taken it a step further that it’s jaw dropping. Nov 8, 2022

The dark, Deathcore, downtempo band are adding something really interesting into the genre. Nov 8, 2022

In between interludes and some parts really drag this record down from some of the other solid work done here. Nov 8, 2022

I think the lyrics are what really detract from this album. It’s political arming feels real, but it just comes off really corny. I can’t deny that this is some of their best instrumentally. Nov 8, 2022

It has some great aggression, but it’s inconsistencies really take out from the whole experience. Nov 8, 2022

There’s nothing here that feels quite as interesting as it could be. There’s a lot of ideas but they aren’t solid enough. Nov 8, 2022
SlothLord 85/100
Spite sound more honed in and confident in their sound’s style that is a HUGELY, satisfying, step-up from the band’s previous releases. The singles building up to this release did not disappoint and the record showcases that even more so that help set them apart from others in the metal scene. Nov 8, 2022

The German quintet feel like they’ve come more into their own, unique sound. It’s slamming riffs and intense sound add even more to some of their more atmospheric moments that are chilling and epic. Nov 2, 2022

Experimenting a bit, but never truly feels fun or interesting. Nov 2, 2022

I think the hype around this record, is a bit overhyped, but still great overall. Oct 24, 2022

Playing with the same styles as other bands, this sound can be reworked in their favor to be more than this. Oct 24, 2022
SlothLord 85/100
A great Deathcore record that improves some more average sounds in their beginning. Oct 24, 2022

In some areas, this album is more of a grower to be appreciated more in time. Oct 24, 2022

Some of their best work and a new journey that feels developed. Oct 24, 2022
SlothLord 70/100
I think a lot of people will feel either let down or enjoy the new direction. Honestly, it doesn’t always work, but it doesn’t detract from how solid they still come off. Oct 24, 2022
SlothLord 90/100
The band explore other sides to their sound that is at times plays with a haunting slower track and a technical/progressive aggression that feels fresh. Oct 24, 2022

Vain Glory Opera" Apr 25, 2024

6 days ago

Apr 6, 2024

The importance of "Holy Diver" to the metal world cannot be underestimated. Ronnie James Dio showed the world that he is capable of conjuring up a band that makes such diamond-heavy music that weaker ones will still be horrified decades later. Thank you Ronnie James Dio. You were the biggest and the greatest and you will never be forgotten. Apr 7, 2024

"Sacred Heart" does not quite rise to the sharpest peak of Dio's production, and on the next album "Dream Evil" we heard the band's strongest performance after the debut album "Holy Diver". However, "Sacred Heart" should not be skipped under any circumstances and it is an underrated work in terms of its best moments. If for some reason you haven't heard it yet, fans of classic heavy metal should check out the work now at the latest. Apr 7, 2024
