스웨덴 Viking Melodic Death/Black Metal 의 선봉장이라 할 수 있는 Amon Amarth는 1992년 결성되었다. Thor Arise와 The Arrival Of The Fimbul Winter 두장의 데모를 제작한 후, 발표한 데뷔 미니앨범이 본작 Sorrow Throughout The Nine Worlds 앨범으로 처녀작임에도 불구하고 탄탄한 연주력과 자연스러운 곡전개를 들려주어 많은 관심을 불러 일으켰다. 광활한 구성을 바탕으로 시원스럽게 펼쳐지는 멜로디컬한 전개는 바이킹 민족의 기상을 드라마틱하게 드러낸다. 곡중반 환상적인 기타 멜로디가 등장하는 Burning Creation가 앨범의 백미이다. 본작이 보여준 가능성으로 Metal Blade와 계약을 체결하게 된다.
