This is one of the greatest albums I ever listened to. Every part of it is incredible, and I truly can't thank Slice The Cake enough for making it. I won't go into too much details, but I'll write my reasons in bullet points:
-The vocals - The vocals on this album are absolutely stellar. Gaia are such an amazing vocalist, and they use so many different techniques so well, they get me singing/screaming/growling along every time.
-The production - I don't know if I ever listened to an album with such good production. I'm not much of an audiophile, but I know amazing sound quality when I hear it, and it's so fcking good. Every instrument sounds perfect, and they all work together so well to create this symphony of sound, together with the sound FX and the atmosphere, it's just incredible.
-The instrumentation - The instrumentation, overall, is fan-fcking-tastic. The guitars, whether acoustic or electric, all sound great, with no joke, some of the greatest riffs I ever heard (Electric and acoustic, even). The drums, while I think they are programmed, they were programmed incredibly well. They're amazing and always play exactly what fits the song perfectly. Sometimes the drums sound a little too perfect, but I honestly like that, and I find it really fits the atmosphere. The bass on this album is also fantastic. Always fits the atmosphere, and some of the riffs were genuinely incredible. The keyboards and synths were also very good, and always came just in time. They were what the song needed, although not exceptional.
-The lyricism - The lyrics for this album deserve a book of their own. The style changes with time, and it captures the protagonist's feelings and thoughts perfectly. The lyrics go through mythologies, Biblical writings, pagan legends, poems, and so much more, I just can't stress enough how good they are. They look as if they were written by a philosopher and a writer. Heavy Blog Is Heavy did an overview of the lyrics, concept, and story of this album, and I couldn't explain it better than them. Go ahead and read it, and then you'll understand the genius of this album's lyrics, and the music accompanying it, and also telling the story alongside it. I legit studied this album like studying a textbook in philosophy, reading every little part, connecting it to the rest, thinking of different ways to interpret it.
-As an album - This album, as an album, works so incredibly well. The instruments work together to create a symphony of sounds, always perfectly capturing what's going on in the story and in the protagonist's mind. The lyricism obviously is a big part of it, and also the vocals too. The transitions are also some of the best in any album, and it works together so well that anytime I listen to it, I listen to the entire album.

This album is so good I listen to it multiple times a week, and it seems to never get old.

R.I.P Slice The Cake, too bad we'll never see a follow-up, but thank you for gifting the world this masterpiece.
