데뷔초기부터 Sentenced, Tiamat등의 앨범을 제작한 바 있는 명프로듀서 Waldemar Sorychta와 함께하여 유명하기도 한 Lacuna Coil이다. 1996년에 이탈리아에서 결성된 Gothic Metal 밴드로 북구의 중세적인 차가운 음악과는 다소 대비되는 남구의 열정적인 느낌을 표출해낸다. 아트락왕국을 출신지로 하는 밴드답게 다양한 느낌의 시각적인 사운드가 자연스럽게 녹아들어있는데, 컨템포러리적인 융통성있는 현대화는 미주지역에까지 노출되는 긍적적인 파급효과를 불러일으켰다. 본작 Comalies으로서 고딕메틀 오버그라운드화를 총체적으로 전망해보는 것도 흥미로울 듯 하다.

커버아트처럼 어딘가로 빨려들어갈 것 같은 아름답고도 어지러운 최면과도 같은 놀라운 앨범. 앨범 내의 곡이 일관된 정서로 하나같이 좋은 퀄리티를 자랑하지만, 상대적으로 킬링트랙을 꼽자면 망설여지게 된다. 유기적이고 고르되 이펙트는 좀 부족한 느낌.

This is one of my favorite albums. I think their newer heavier sound doesn't fit them as well as this did, but maybe it's just the approach.

멋진데..이앨범..
아주오래전(10년전?)에 들었던 기억이 나는데 그땐 별 감흥이 없었는데 메탈에 귀가 열리고나서 들으니
정말 명반인듯..

štýlovo sa jemne posunuli ďaej, niekde medzi gothic rock/metal a altrernatívu, ale stále je to kvalitné s podareným spevom Christini Scabbia
