이번 두 곡이 정말 대충 만든 음악이었으면 좋겠다-하는 생각을하며 리뷰를 시작한다.
Protect the land-줜나 지루하기만 하다.
이 노래를 들으면서 바로 생각난 노래가 있다.
바로 Holy mountains. 느린 템포, 그리고 분위기가 꽤나 비슷하지만 확실히 터뜨려주는 Holy mountains와는 다르게 이 노래는 클라이막스 만들기가 귀찮았는지 계속 주저리주저리만 하다가 끝이나버린다.
어질어질하지만 바로 이 노래가 무려 십수년만의 복귀곡이었다!
Genocidal Humanoidz-위에 것보다는 들을만했다.
개인적으로는 이전 앨범들에서도 이런 스타일의 노래는 별로 선호하지 않았다. 막 뭐래뭐래 깐족대면서 속사포처럼 랩아닌 랩을 해대는 그런 곡들. 예로 This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm on This Song을 들 수있겠는데, 이 곡도 딱 그정도 퀄리티로 뽑힌 느낌이다. 그래도 중간에 블랙메탈스러운 리프가 귀에 꽂혀서 나쁘지는 않았다는 느낌.
예시로 든 두 노래가 모두 2005년도 작품이라는 것을 보더라도 알 수 있듯이, 이번에 나온 두곡 모두Mezmerize나 Hypnotize에 수록되어있어도 자연스러울 정도로 후기 SOAD의 음악 스타일과 유사하다.
(물론 실제로 껴있었으면 필러취급 받았을테지만...)

zatiaľ posledné dve piesne "Protect the Land" / "Genocidal Humanoidz" sa nesú v duchu starších albumov, takže osobne nechápem tie nízke hodnotenia. Má to melódiu, nápad, dobrý spev a v druhej piesni aj potrebnú tvrdosť. A politické texty boli vždy súčasťou SOAD, takže z môjho pohľadu je to OK. Len škoda, že už dlho nevydali nové album a vyzerá to tak, že sa to v krátkej dobe ani nezmení. Škoda talentu.

Deliberately ignored the lyrics;my poor little tin can what I call brain is already full of political shit. Anyway, if you wanna get your bonds even tighter, try it again. Several repetition of listening only left nothing but empty imagination employed within.

Sounds like B-side from Mezmerize/Hypnotize era but I admire their intention. After all they're SOAD, why would I expect less from them?
