2015년 혜성처럼 등장했던 Earthside는 포스트락, 프록메탈 기반의 연주곡을 바탕으로 다양한 음악적 스펙트럼을 들려주며 유튜브 알고리즘을 타고 순식간에 인지도를 높여 나갔다. 1집이 성공을 거두고 밴드의 인지도가 높아지면서 다음 작품의 준비에 들어갔지만, 전 세계의 보컬리스트를 초빙하고 팬데믹을 극복해내는 과정에서 8년이라는 적지 않은 시간이 흘러갔고, 멤버들의 완벽주의적인 음악적 고집으로 인해 작업은 더욱 길어지기만 했다. 많은 시간을 쏟아부은 결과물인 두 번째 정규 앨범은 다행히 전작보다 더 강렬하고, 다원적인 작품이 되었다. 트랙이 풍성해졌을 뿐만 아니라, 다양한 장르로부터 게스트 뮤지션을 섭외하여 이 앨범을 단순히 프록'메탈'의 범주에 넣기는 애매하다. 특히, 보컬이 거의 배제된 경음악에 가까웠던 1집이 상당한 여백을 보였던 것에 비해, 본작은 작정하고 전 곡을 꽉꽉 채워넣은 느낌을 주고 있다. The Heavy Medicine Band의 보컬리스트 Keturah가 강렬하고 주술적인 목소리로 시작하는 We Who Lament는 앨범 초반부에 청자를 확실하게 잡아채며, 모던 프록메탈에서 흔하게 들을 수 있는 드라마틱한 파워 코드가 자연스럽게 곡을 감싸며 신비로운 분위기를 만들어 준다. It is a beautiful release with exquisite craftsmanship erupting the hallucination of progness. This album literally shows the definition of musical progress by boasting easy-to-grasp melodies and well-trimmed musicianship in the realm of instrumental performance and musical structure.

한없이 푸르고 청량하다. 에메랄드빛 얕은 대서양 바다의 고운 모래 바닥 근처에서 물살에 몸을 맡긴 채 알록달록한 해초와 헤엄쳐 다니는 물고기들을 지켜보는 기분이다. 앨범 어디를 들어도 은은한 햇살과 생명의 기운이 느껴진다. 이거 아무래도 인생 앨범 중 하나가 될 것 같다. 91.5점.

Earthside na albume "Let the Truth Speak" kombinuje Prog./Alt. Metal s občasnými prvkami Groove alebo niekedy tam počujem dokonca aj Jazz, pričom hudbu dopĺňa s uvoľneným mužským spevom, ktorý je hlasovo vyššie položený.

Super ambitious album that goes into all genres of music, and I can tell these guys are sometimes just wiping all genres from their minds and composing unique original ideas. Maybe the most important point is how staggeringly beautiful all these songs are.

개인적으로 올해 가장 기대했던 앨범이 드디어 발매됐다. 다소 추상적이고 산만했던 전작에 비해 대곡 위주로 편성하여 응집력을 높이면서 과했던 트레블을 적당히 누르고 더욱 명확한 미드레인지와 디스토션을 가미한 베이스가 어우러지는 헤비하고 진일보된 사운드에 거기다가 아름답고 화려한 부클릿까지 8년이란 기다림이 헛되지 않았다는 걸 느꼈다.
