Dan Swano는 Edge of Sanity의 프론트맨이자 Katatonia, Bloodbath, Dissection, Dark Funeral등 굴지의 밴드들과 작업한 경력이 있는 사람으로, 유럽 메탈씬에서 가장 영향력 있는 뮤지션 혹은 프로듀서들 중 한명이다. 이 밴드는 2013년에 들어서 새롭게 착수한 프로젝트의 일환이며, 현재까지 그가 담당했던 익스트림 계열의 음악이 다채롭게 녹아들어가 있다. 클린보컬과 그로울링을 오가면서 하나의 장르로 귀속시키기 어려운 음악을 들려주는데, 이는 Dan Swano 스스로가 포괄적인 블랙메탈, 프록 데스/블랙, 멜데스, 둠데스를 넘나들며 세계적인 밴드들과 호흡해온 엔지니어임과 동시에 유럽 최고수준의 작곡능력과 연주실력을 겸비하고 있기 때문에 가능한 것이 아닌가 싶다. 무엇보다도 각 트랙에서 펼쳐지는 드라마틱한 클린보컬은 중저음에서는 나긋함을, 고음부에서는 강력한 스크래치를 선사하며 그 어떤 메탈장르에도 어울릴 만한 융통성을 보이고 있다. 프록 데스라기보다는 Ihsahn이나 Opeth에 가까운 익스트림 프록 리프를 구사하고 있으며, 3번트랙 Dead for a Day는 멜데스에 가깝다. 후반곡들은 둠메탈의 요소를 어느정도 사용하고 있기도 하며, 이때의 그로울링 보컬은 Mikael Akerfeldt를 연상시킬만큼 야수적이다. 여러 장르가 혼합된 잡탕찌개임 ...
