레이트유어뮤직.com에 가보면 해당 엘범의 장르 구분이 단순히 둠메탈이 아니라 트레디셔날 둠메탈 / 헤비 메탈로 분류되어 있는걸 보실 수 있습니다.
장르명만 보자면 Officitum Triste나 Brave. Murder. Day. 로 대표되는 Katatonia 초기의 Death doom 스타일, 혹은 Tyranny, Shape of Despair와 같은 Funeral doom과 비슷할 것 같지만, 개인적으론 음악의 구조자체가 다른 장르인 것 같습니다.
Traditional Doom Metal는 많이 알려진 둠의 특징인 느리고 내리찍는 듯한 리프, 내장에서부터 우러나오는 듯한 깊은 그로울링은 거의 없거나 사용하지 않으며, 대신 초창기 블랙 / 헤비 메탈과 비슷한 듯 합니다.
장르 설명에는 블랙 사바스 초기의 음악에 많은 영향을 받았다고 적혀있군요. 특히나 캔들매스의 이 엘범은 약간 블루지한 느낌도 드는 것 같습니다.
언젠가 이 리뷰를 보게 될 저같은 초보 둠메탈 리스너 분들에게 도움이 되고자 조금 끄적여봤습니다.

Tales of Creation is the last of Candlemass’ original golden era of albums, and what a fine way to conclude Messiah’s (first) run with the band. The album is a concept album of sorts, focusing on creation, loneliness, introspection and self-love. Candlemass deliver the same kind of quality, riff-driven epic Trad Doom as always. Again with Messiah’s intense vocal prowess, the album retains the sound from Nightfall. Ancient Dreams tends to be seen as a drop in quality, but I instead see it as a trade off of sorts. Candlemass enter one of their most celebrated lineups here with the addition of Messiah and record the great Nightfall. By 1987, Candlemass was pretty much indisputably the best Doom band around, especially solidifying the fact after dropping a follow up album just as amazing as their debut (both of which remain their finest works in most people’s opinion).

고딩2년때 동네레코드가게에서 자켓만 보고 500원에 구입한빽판이 바로 캔들매스의
