Very high chance this will be the best album this year. Possibly better than anything last year. Yes it's great atmospheric black metal, but there's a lot of classical music here too, and I just love it all. There are also some moments that are very metal but not particularly blackened. Species Splicer steals the show with their 3 short & excellent songs. The black metal element works wonderfully and brings a ton of variety & depth to the great slam of those songs. The other 2 bands do so-so, with Esophagus being slightly better than disorder.   5 days ago

The other project by Caleb from Kyptoxik Mortality. This one is a chance to include blackened elements into the songs, but the music is still essentially death metal and slamming brutal death metal (not as black metal as the cover art looks). I thought I was being Insanity Wolf trying an album that ranks so low, but for me it's not so bad; just kinda plain, mediocre, and lacking variety. The riffing is pretty good, and the recording achieves a pretty good sound. I wish Deathblade had this kind of production for their album I just rated, because Deathblade wrote much better songs. So I had an industrial Wednesday, and this was the low point. I'm trying to be fair because they are clearly going for a challenging listening experience that is should be hard for some people to enjoy but should still be good underneath. Really beautifully demonic music by this extremely vital band. I can't say, however, that this album is as much of a gem as their 2022 album. Versets noirs is only 42 minutes and the last track is a Samael cover, so it doesn't pack as much value overall. Great heavy metal and thrash with still that hint of BM. Of the past 10 years, I think this one is 2nd to Old Star; really close in fact. Also, that cover art works fantastically with the theme, and its element of surrealism is mixed in perfectly. This album is a class act in many respects from the prolific veterans.   Apr 29, 2024

Some bands like Full of Hell play a real unique mix of quite a few genres, and they truly excel with this approach. For metalheads who are trying to develop an understanding of a genre, this can be really confusing. Anyway, one track starts off as drone metal and quickly phases into doom. There are all kinds of other brilliant highlights. For me, the deathgrind brings the most satisfaction. Top-tier work, overall.   Apr 29, 2024

블랙모어가 딥퍼플에서 나와서 좋은 것은 rainbow식 음악도 들을 수 있게 되었다는 점이다. 아주 아주 특이한 감성을 갖고 있는 사람이다. 아주 헤비한 락이면서도 부분 부분 포크적인 느낌도 있고 쓰잔함도 갖고 있다. 당대의 3대장하고는 다른 맛을 느낄 수 있다. 1,4,6이 대표곡. 3번은 quatarmass 9번은 yardbirds 커버곡이다. 희한하게 LP의 양면 라벨이 바뀐 것도 있다.   Apr 16, 2024

리치가 베이스를 1–3, 6를 연주했다. 그 외의 스튜디오는 밥 데이즐리 연주. 어렸을 때에는 1,5를 굉장히 좋아했었는데 문제는 5를 라센 시기에는 듣질 못했었다. 지금은 오히려 4번 같은 곡이 애청곡이 되었다. 앨범으로 기준으로도 1,2집보다 더 좋아했던 기억이 있다. 8번은 역시나 디오의 또 다른 보컬 맛을 느끼기 좋은 곡. 디오 재적시의 앨범은 영원할 것 같다.   Apr 20, 2024

3인조 코로너의 전 앨범 특히 2,3,4집을 좋아합니다. 옛날에 3집을 LP로 구입했었는데 속지에 시계, 스위스, 큰 글자로 '그로테스크' 라고 적힌 기억이.. 이후 90년대 중후반에 걸쳐서 전 앨범을 시디로 하나씩 모았죠. 30년간 신보를 안 내고 재결성 후에 아직도 활동하는 것도 특이한데, 그만큼 고정팬들이 많다는거 거겠죠.   Apr 25, 2024
