어릴때부터 RPG게임을 좋아해서 이런 판타지 분위기에 나레이션 + 코러스 + 장중한 음악 나오면 무조건 좋아하며 앨범 퀄리티에 비해 높은 점수를 주게 됨.
개인적으로 비슷한 느낌의 밴드로 생각되는 것이 Avantasia 초기 앨범, Blind Guardian Twilight Orchestra, Lingua Mortis Orchestra, Haggard 등등.
하지만 본 앨범은 멜로디 측면에서 전술한 밴드들보다 좀 많이 부족함.
무엇보다 곡들에 중량감이 없고 매우 허전함.
드럼 머신이라도 사용한 듯한 멕아리 없고 똑같은 리듬만 반복하는 형편없는 드러밍이 주요 원인 중 하나일 듯.
Marius Danielsen's Legend of Valley Doom이라는 엄청나게 긴 이름을 달고 이제까지 나온 앨범들은 다들 한 10%정도 부족한 느낌이 있어 아쉬움.
그래도, 게스트 라인업은 정말 화려함 (특히 개인적으로 좋아하는 보컬 다수 배치, Melissa Bonny, Tim "Ripper" Owens, Elisa Martin 등등)
하지만, Avantasia의 Metal Opera처럼 보컬들이 조화롭게 배치된 것이 아니라 번갈아가며 한소절씩 부르는 느낌이라 오히려 곡이 툭툭 끊기는 인상을 받게 됨.
개인적으로 비슷한 느낌의 밴드로 생각되는 것이 Avantasia 초기 앨범, Blind Guardian Twilight Orchestra, Lingua Mortis Orchestra, Haggard 등등.
하지만 본 앨범은 멜로디 측면에서 전술한 밴드들보다 좀 많이 부족함.
무엇보다 곡들에 중량감이 없고 매우 허전함.
