Tournament of the Gods - 2002
The greatest metal band of all-time. Many bands lay claim to the crown and thousands of fans take part in the debate. In 2002 Metal-Rules.com held an online tournament to determine the band that our readers think deserves to sit upon that lofty throne - the ultimate metal band! There were 64 bands in the tournament, representing all genres of metal, from Black Sabbath all the way to Nightwish. The bands were chosen by the Metal-Rules.com staff, so if your favorite band is not included, we're sorry, but we already had to cut some of our own personal favorites too!!!
We had to run this poll 2 times. The first run was aborted since it was full of cheating with some polls racking up 5000 votes! So we decided to only allow members of our forum to vote. A strict measure for sure, but at least the results are accurate. The problem is that ALL online polls are flawed. A simple change of IP or a deletion of cookies and you can vote 5000 times if you are loser enough!

Iron Maiden 의 위용을 다시한번 실감케 해준 이슈였습니다.
32강에서 주다스가 아이언을 만나지 않았다면 파이날까지 올라갔을 거라 생각되네요.
비슷한 성향의 밴드끼리 묶어서 출발을 해서 초장에 만나버렸습니다...
의외인 인것 역시 Testamet ! 입니다. Sepultura, Slayer 를 누른것도 놀랄일인데,
Arch Enemy, Death, Immortal 까지 제치고 파이날까지 올라갔네요!!
Dimmu Borgir 를 누른 Emperor 와 Mayhem 을 누른 Sentenced 를 이긴
Immortal 도 정말 의외로군요!!
Kamelot 이 Virgin Steele 에게 눌린 것은 현유럽씬을 명확하게 나타내준다고
여겨집니다. Rhapsody 가 Blind Guardian 에게 잡힌 것도 그렇구요.
Helloween 이 Iced Earth 에게 뒤진것도 마찬가지란 생각이네요..
Cradle Of Filth 나 Opeth, W.A.S.P, Queensryhe 등이 초장에 무너진것은
Metal-Rules 의 방향성에서 기인한 것이라 여겨집니다.
제왕 In Flames 가 Children Of Bodom 에게 진 것도 상당한 의외로군요.. | ||
Dream Theater, Symphony X, Shadow Gallery 같은 밴드를 리스트에 넣었다면
어떠하였을까 생각됩니다. 사이트의 방향이 True Metal 이니 어쩔수 없지만요... | ||
마치 월드컵에서 벌어지는 수많은 죽음의 대결을 보는 듯하군요.
(브라질-프랑스, 잉글랜드-아르헨티나 경기같은...ㅎㅎ^^;) | ||
Megadeth도 정말 대단하네요.ㅎㅎ 역쉬 제가 젤 좋아하는 스래쉬 밴드..ㅋㅋ 신보나 빨리 나왔으면 좋겠습니다.
In Flames는 True Metal과는 거리가 많이 멀어졌으니 어쩔수 없었는듯.. Arch Enemy의 작년 발매작은 (2,3,4집에 비해) 별루였다고 생각하는데 그래두 Soilwork와 C.O.B를 잡는군요.. 대단함 @.@
개인적으로 너무 좋아하는 Hammerfall은 처음부터 Dio를 만나지만 않았다만 초반탈락은 않했을텐데.. 아쉽네요..^^;;
