but they didn't risk their lives in vain
when the wordly might mattered more than God's Word
the church started to sharpen its blood-thirsty blade

Waldo, Arnaldo, Savonarola,
Hus and Tyndale perished in flames

the acts of devil in the inquisition
murdered thousands who opposed the Roman blade
they fought the tyranny of Rome
fought the deceiver, the indulgence trade
let the truth be told!
but the embers of the reform couldn't be tamed

sola scriptura: autoritas
nihil potest mutare
(Scripture alone: authority,
nothing can change it)

and the ones who died for the Scripture
fought against the desecration of Christ
as the church robbed its way to get richer
built its castles for the honor of its own might
not of our own works but the grace
not the traditions or dead religious ways
adding works to salvation is mockery
of the cross-work that happened once on the hill of Calvary
