1625 A.S.
It was then, at the darkest day of Autumn that the Duke called forth all the nobles of the province to pledge loyalty to him during a festivity of a rare occurence called The Argent Masquerade. It was to be held inside the majestic walls of the Castle Mordkhane. As a devious ploy it allowed for all the remaining living aristocracy of the right age to be gathered at the same place. The ancient spirits moaned their scarcity of souls under the iron yoke of the Duke Goffridus Mordkhane. The grand halls held a vast legacy. At the height of the ball, by the order of the Duke the hungering spectres sealed the entrance to the castle and drained the souls of each member of the nobility.
Only one man was left alive: An old wayfarer who would be forced to share his knowledge to the Duke's son on his forthcomina auest for the relics of Hell.
