Scott Burns's Thash Metal Approach...
Death Metal Production 의 권위자인 Scott Burns 는 90년대 초기 유구한 Death Metal Masterpiece 를 쏟아 내기전 1989년 Brazil 의 Minor Band 인 Sepultura 의 'Beneath The Remains' 음반 Producing 을 맡았다. Roadrunner Lable 의 후광도 있었겟지만 그 결과 Sepultura 는 World Band 가 되었다. Sepultura 음반 Producing 까지만 해도 Scott Burns 만의 Producing Identity 는 확연하게 드러나지는 않았다. Thrash Metal 초기의 음색을 최대한 끌고 가려는 것이 보였다. 1990년이 도래되었고 Scott Burns 방식의 Death Metal Masterpiece 가 쏟아져 나오면서 Producing 정체성이 확립이되던 시기에 本作 의 Producer 를 맡게 된 것이다. 기존의 신경질적이고 날카로운 Thrash Metal 의 음색에 구애받지 않고 Scott Burns 방식의 Thrash Metal 접근법을 구사하였다. 결과는 대단한 성공이다. Scott Burns 는 Thrash Metal 에 잔인성을 부여하였고 양질의 공간감을 제공하여 聽者의 만족감까지 충족한 셈이다. 더불어서 Scott Burns 는 Demolition Hammer 라는 Band 의 Identity 까지 제시하고 연주력을 돋보이게 하는 역할까지 하게 된 것이다.
