This album doesn't appeal to me at all. Grindcore is one of the genres that I really don't like.

22 songs that are so heavy you can’t even hear the riffs. The lyrics are quite good but you can’t hear those either. The most abrasive thing around in 1988.

기계인간이 무지막지한 토사물을 쏟아내는것같은 소리들로 꾸역꾸역 채워진 Napalm Death의 두번째 앨범은 그라인드코어라는 장르의 형태와 길을 제시해주고 있습니다. 데뷔작 Scum이 시초로서의 첫 발자국을 내딛었다는 가치를 가진다면, 본작은 앞으로 계속 걸어가기 위한 방향을 잡아 놓았다는 가치를 가진다고 보고 있는데, 동시에 이미 완성된것이기도 합니다.

귀에 착착 감기는 베이스라인과 무지막지한 드러밍이 일품. 특히 보컬은 정말 밴드 이름 값을 해낸다. 진짜 네이팜 탄을 맞고 죽어가는 이의 비명을 연상케 하는 보컬을 뽑아준다.
이토록 묵직하고 위압감 있는 음악을 선보인 네이팜 데스를 인정하지 않을 수 없다!

요즘 그라인드한다는 밴드들이 아무리 날고 기어봤자 이 앨범의 발톱때만큼도 못따라간다. 역시나 구관이 명관...

Scum도 위대한 명반이지만 이 앨범은 전작에서 있었던 조금이나마 미숙한 부분을 완벽하게 보완해낸, 그야말로 그라인드코어의 완성형이라고 생각한다.

Rudimentary Grindcore, mostly with bones and not a lot of flesh. A monumental album for both Napalm Death and the genre of Grindcore.
