Oh boy, the cover art alone tells you everything you need to know. It's shit. The vocals are absolutely grating and the drums are 100% a drum machine. Wouldn't really even consider this Metalcore either, its more Groove Metal (shitty Groove Metal at that) than anything else. Either way its hateful nazi bullshit and should be avoided like the plague. *Reason for adding was for it to be seen and mocked. Hateful shit like this doesn't belong in metal and never will. My favorite release from them now. BIG 2000s Metalcore sound (even more so than before) with more of the industrial sounds and elements they started incorporating in "Replica of a Strange Love". The screamo inspirations are unfortunately not as present in this release, in its place we have a LOT of Melo Death influence and it sounds fantastic. Apr 10, 2024

My introduction to this band was through this EP, specifically tracks 1 & 5 (Ups & Downs, Rollin'). One of the best Metalcore releases of the 2010s (In my opinion). *Part of what I like to call (and made up myself) the Crystal Lake trifecta. Consisting of Cubes, The Sign, and True North. (All of which I consider to be the best of Crystal Lake's discography.) Jan 10, 2024

My favorite Crystal Lake album and in my (unpopular) opinion their best album. The atmosphere on this album is amazing. Every listen instantly reminds me of the day I first listened to it in early 2017 (so I'm VERY nostalgic about it). Definitely has a BIT of a softer sound to it in parts but it does not detract a thing from it as the heavy tracks still hit hard. Jan 10, 2024

My first exposure to Pop Punk and one of my first exposures to Metalcore. So my rating is biased (and my own personal opinion). Not ground breaking at all but it doesn't need to be. Overall a fun album. Dec 28, 2023

This band (unfortunately) hasn't put out a good song or album since Bad Vibrations (Yes, I actually like that album). This album is a mess, it sounds like the band couldn't decide what genre/s they wanted to be and the end result is, like I said, a mess. Dec 28, 2023

Your standard Easycore and Pop Punk. Nothing ground breaking (nor does it need to be) but still fun. Dec 28, 2023

I'm unsure how to feel about this. They went from pretty standard (but pretty fun) Easycore and Pop Punk to Surf Rock and Power Pop. I've listened to this album twice but I just can't really get into it. It has it's moments but It just feels like a bizarre shift in genre. Dec 28, 2023

This may be heresy to some but I cannot for the life of me get into this band. You have groovy and heavy riffs which are all well and good but then you have the lyrics, very juvenile and bad at times (ex: "Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills"). I'm also not a fan of Phil's vocals (I'm not a fan of Phil in general for a LOT of reasons that I will not get into.) I can understand the overall importance of the band on metal as a whole but they do absolutely nothing for me. Dec 27, 2023

This band is ALL over the place and I love it. You can go from absolutely nasty highs and gutturals to extremely poppy choruses and then into a buildup and breakdown. Not many bands can pull off this sound and make it work in my opinion. Dec 27, 2023

Definitely not for me anymore if this is how Architects plans to sound going forward. (Which is fine, I'm not going to make an ass of myself like some have done online concerning this and FTTWTE.) Too radio safe/generic for me though. Dec 27, 2023

Definitely a return to form but not in a good/positive way. Obvious call out track towards admittedly annoying people who were rather vocal about not liking the last 1 or 2 albums (I didn't care for them either but I wasn't being an ass about it). Dec 27, 2023

I genuinely can't get through this album without getting a headache. Dubstep has never been my thing and probably never will be. Dec 27, 2023

Garbage, not just the album but the band itself and the person/people in the band as well. *IYKYK (If you know, you know) Dec 27, 2023

My opinion on this album is VERY biased. (Was 15 when it released and was the album that got me into CG.) Definitely has a bit more of a Metalcore-ish sound to it compared to their previous releases but in my opinion this does not detract anything from the album. (Still plenty of Deathcore goodness present) Aug 5, 2023

This album tones down the aggressiveness the band was known for and shifts to a more melodic musical style. (which is still heavy at times) Just like their two previous albums, Rock is also one of my favorite albums in the Nu Metal/Alternative Metal genres. Dec 22, 2022

What was said in my Episode 2: Medecine Cake album comment also applies here. Heavy, Aggressive, and even funky at times. Dec 21, 2022

Ridiculously heavy and aggressive Nu Metal and easily one of my favorite albums within the genre. Dec 21, 2022

Personally, I have always liked Sonata Arctica, and the new album is one of the best that the band has released in the last 10 years. Apr 13, 2024

Apr 29, 2024

1990년도에 대체 무슨 일이 있었길래... rust in peace, painkiller, spiritual healing, cowboys from hell까지... 2 days ago

1 day ago

Apr 10, 2024
