특이한게 goat phallus의 경우 06년 06월 06일 본작들을 녹음했다고 자랑스레 써져있다. 뭐 곧이곧대로 믿을수 있을까만은 이들의 꼬라지를 보아하면 또 못 믿을것은 뭣인가 싶기도 하다.

음악은 꽤 사악하다.

실상 이 사악하다는말에는 여러가지 의미가 들어있다만... 음질도 악독하고 이들의 주제도, 이들의 사운드, 수준 그 자체도 모두 사악하다.

굉장히 지글거리고 음습하면서도 인더스트리얼적인 로우 블랙메탈을 들려주는 exetheris의 6곡은 꽤나 취향에 맞아 떨어진다.

반면 goat phallus는 쉽게 블랙/데스/스래쉬로 정의하기는 힘들다. 그라인드적인 부분도 있고 보컬은 딱 그에 걸맞다. 게다가 전자음의 차용이 보다 돋보이는 곡들등 기본적으로 반인륜적인, 굉장히 차가운 느낌을 나타낸다.

9번곡 baptism semen armament의 그 극도의 보컬노이즈와 드럼 비트는 인간적인 부분이 아예 보이지 않는다. 이전의 exetheris가 너무나 인간적인 사운드로 느껴질 정도이다. 마지막의 drink the piss of holy bliss의 전개와 성스러운 마무리는 백미.

두 밴드 중에 하나를 고르라면 개인적으론 goat phallus에 꽤나 큰 애착이 간다.

무명의 두 밴드, 실제로는 한 놈이 만져대는 음악일지라도 장르의 전형을 벗어난, B급 밴드만의 자유로운 시도의 멋을 가지고 있기도 하다. 기계적이고 차가운 사운드가 결합된 로우 블랙메탈을 좋아한다면 시간이 아깝지는 않을 것이다.

그래도 B급은 B급이지만.
