I never understood why this album was never talked about as much as their other albums, in my opinion this is one of the greatest alternative metal albums of all time. David Draiman's main idea for this album is his view with religion. At first glance you can simply look at the track names and see that's the case. But the lyrics tell a much deeper story about his struggle to believe and the pressure of those around him. Getting into the meat of the album, it comes out swinging. The first four tracks are instant classics, and are hard to stop listening to. Liberate and Believe with their catchy chorus make for an easy ear worm. Flaw –

The first "raw revival" of the new metal sound started with bands like Flaw and Lifer. This usually contained songs that were fairly melancholy, with slower simple guitar riffs, and less then original lyrics. With that in mind, Flaws debut was an excellent example of the capabilities of this format of nu metal. Best songs are Payback, Get Up Again, and Whole.

Slipknot paved the way for a new generation of hardcore nu metal. The First 6 tracks are memorable in every way, they are fast, heavy, and full of energy. The intensity dies down near the back half of this album. With songs sounding repetitive or slow. nonetheless this is one of pioneers of the nu metal genre.

Solid Dry Kill Logic song, reminds me of something off of The Dead and Dreaming. That being said this had no reason being 5 minutes long, most of this could have been condensed into 3.

Fairly uninspired writing and simple repetitive guitar tracks. Vocals are noting to write home about, but Ivan Moody has never been very lyrically talented. Despite this its not a bad listen, the songs blend well into each other and have fantastic clean and heavy parts. Wish this was the sound they used going forward because it showed a lot of promise in the ways it could be changed.

Sounds like a heavier slower version of 3 dollar bill y'all. Guitar riffs are very simple but contain a nice groove. J-sin has a few good lines, but over all most of the lyrics boil down to "don't mess with me, i'm crazy". Best songs are Loose, Supa Freak Love, and The Big Fuck You.

Fantastic song flow, vocals, and overall groove. Christian metal that isn't a chore to listen to. No bad songs, only head bangers on this album, wish they would have kept this sound for all their other albums.

The whole album is a weird funky mess of slap bass, incredible drum beats, and random freestyle guitar in the background. You cant really take this album at face value, because it doesn't really have one. Primus are in a league of their own, and in my eyes are very good at what they do. Best songs are DMV, Nature Boy, Hamburger Train, And My Name Is Mud. A great listen for any funk metal fans.

This album is good, but is no where near the first two. The songs are fairly identical sound wise and much less extreme the The Darker Side of Nonsense. That makes this album fairly tedious to listen two, and not very enjoyable. Best songs are Kingdom Of The Blind, for its phenomenal clean vocals, and My Dying Heart being a great opener. Its not bad, just gets old quickly.
