[English in the End]

Many comments ask why this band hasn't opened for King Gizzard yet. Sure, they’re delightfully unhinged, but to be precise, I consider them the greatest B-movie aesthetic, S-tier band since Steel Panther. Instead of raunchy jokes, this team serves up a true Quentin Tarantino-style B-movie vibe—less about being overtly sexual, more about absurd, blood-soaked madness. Throw in a heavy dose of a deeply cultic atmosphere, and you get Battlesnake.

Sonically, rather than glam metal, they lean straight into 80s NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal). They run with a light, bouncy, and energetic sound tone reminiscent of Judas Priest's Stained Class era. Just as 80s NWOBHM bands had hard rock-infused tracks, this album does too. The guitar work—from riffs to solos—is surprisingly intricate. Plus, the keyboard work is absolute fire. Oh, and adding one more key feature to their sound, there’s a distinct psychedelic edge to it.

You often see people in the comment section asking why they haven't been invited as a headliner or opener for King Gizzard's live shows. The only drawback to this delightfully inventive and awesome release is that it’s too short. That said, it proves more than enough to showcase what they wanted to deliver. Their subsequent albums expand in length and pull off everything they set out to do without holding back.

Although I mentioned similar styles earlier, while their sound is vintage, they play music with a solid, heavy weight to it. Their 2nd and 3rd albums are excellent, but the singles they've been releasing lately are downright incredible. The final track drops a little spoiler about their future direction, but I’ll leave that for you to discover through upcoming album reviews.
