시발 컨버지가 돌아왔다. 근 8~9년의 방황(?)을 끝내고 개쩌는 커버와 타이틀, 곡들로 돌아왔다. 거의 모든 순수 메탈 밴드들은 비교도 안 될 정도의 미친 박력과 스피드로 중무장하고 지난 십여년의 시간을 반성하듯 청자들의 멱살을 쥐어틀고 후드려 팬다. 앨범 중후반부는 스피드보단 곡의 구성과 헤비함으로 가는구나… 라고 생각할쯤 Make Me Forget You로 신나게 D비트를 조져서 그들이 하드코어 펑크의 자식들임을 숨기지 않는다. 10곡 31분. 그들의 액기스만 꽉꽉 눌러담은 듯 한 간결한 곡 수와 러닝타임으로 최고의 집중력을 보여주고 있으며 이런 음악으로 복귀할거라는건 공개된 앨범 커버를 보고 예상했지만 이정도의 미친 작품으로 돌아올 줄은 몰랐다.
이들도 이제 나이도 있어서 The Dusk In Us 정도만 뽑아줘도 감사했을텐데 Axe to Fall + All We Love We Leave Behind가 웬말인가!
올해의 앨범 후보에 무조건 들어가는, 강철도 부숴버릴 듯 한 컨버지의 강력한 복귀작.
이들도 이제 나이도 있어서 The Dusk In Us 정도만 뽑아줘도 감사했을텐데 Axe to Fall + All We Love We Leave Behind가 웬말인가!
