This groundbreaking album redefined the Nu-Metal genre and brought it to the mainstream, becoming the best-selling debut album of the 21st Century. Blending a 'hybrid' of metal, rap, electronica, and pop, it established a totally unique style while maintaining Linkin Park's signature sound. It also introduced us to one of the greatest voices in music history: Chester Bennington. Hybrid Theory gave us timeless classics such as "In The End," "Crawling," and "One Step Closer" - songs that are still in constant rotation today and remain every bit as relevant as they were in 2000.
Following in the footsteps of the band's predecessor - their 1999 debut EP, Hybrid Theory deals with themes of loneliness, depression, anxiety, and angst, delivered amazingly by the great Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda. As mentioned before, the album features a vast array of diverse musical styles: from Nu Metal heavy hitters like the atmospheric yet crushing "With You," "One Step Closer", "A Place For My Head" and "By Myself", to poppy anthems like "Papercut" and "In The End." It ranges from the 80s synth-pop inspired "Crawling" and the Depeche Mode-esque "Pushing Me Away" to hip-hop influenced tracks such as "Points Of Authority" and "Forgotten.
Produced by Don Gilmore (and co-produced by Mike Shinoda), The Album's crisp sound can be attributed to the legendary mixer Andy Wallace (Nirvana - Nevermind), yet another key detail why this album sounds so timeless.
Truly a masterpiece textbook no-skip album. 11/10

요즘으로 치면 대형 DLC고 예전 식으로는 확장팩인 셈이다. 삼국지로 치면 파워업키트.
