Army of One 에서 익숙한 이름들이 나오는 것이 흥미롭다.
본디 이 밴드는 Jeff Waters 의 원맨프로젝트라 하는 것이 합당할 지언데
그나마 Dave Padden은 가장 오랫동안 함께 한 Vocalist일 것이다.
Jeff Waters 는 다소 경쾌하고 가벼운 리프로 대중적으로 어필하려는 경향이 있다. 헤비함과 대중성을 같이 잡기는 매우 어려운 시도이다. Jeff Waters 의 행보는 헤비메탈의 골수팬이 보기에는 단조롭고 밋밋해 보이고 매우 별로일 수 있다. 다만 긍정적인 면으로 깔끔한 리프와 노래하는 기타솔로만 놓고 보자면 천재성을 느낄 수 있다. 가장 강력한 것에 치중하기 보다는 스래쉬메탈 중 가장 편안하게 들을 수 있는 것이라 생각하면 불편함이 없고 재미 있게 들을 수 있다.
Dave Padden 역시 헤비함 보다는 친근한 음색의 소유자로서.
Metal골수팬들이 왜 이 밴드의 1,2,3집을 최애 하는지 보여주는 대목이다.
초창기 세개의 앨범동안 vocal이 매번 바뀌어 3명의 vocalist가 등장한다.
당시에는 그래도 . 헤비한 vocal을 기용하였기에 캐나다 대표 스래쉬메탈로 강하게 각인되었다.
그 뒤로는 Jeff Waters가 직접 vocal까지 하게 되면서.. 처참.. 하아.
그래도 이렇게 긴 생명력을 가지고 살아남은 이유는 무엇일까?

상당히 잘 뽑힌 스레쉬 메탈 앨범입니다. 스레쉬 메탈이지만 스피드로 밀어부치는 스타일이 아니라 적당한 완급 조절이 돋보이는 앨범이라고 봅니다.

Annihilator sú na hudobnej scéne od roku 1984 pričom zažili slávnejšie časy, ako aj menej podarené. Hlavne začiatky mali výborné a sú nezmazateľné vpísané do metalovej histórie. My favorite Annihilator album. The whole thing is great. It's a different work from those old school American thrash metal bands, but still great. At times it sounds like crossover-thrash, heavy metal and pure thrash metal.
