Godsend na debutovom albume "As the Shadows Fall" ponúkajú Doom/Stoner Metal v kombinácii s občasnými prvkami Funeral (niekedy hudba pripomenie napr. Cathedral, Trouble alebo Black Sabbath). O vokálne linky sa postaral Dan Swanö, ktorého hádam ani netreba predstavovať. Ale po pravde tu spieva skôr priemerne - nie zle, ale počul som už od neho lepší / silnejší spev na iných albumoch (a hlavne pestrejší). Album má dobrý zvuk (aj keď ten je práve viac orientovaný na stoner, ako na doom), hudobné nápady sú taký stred (to je celkom dobré, ale na druhej strane nie sú ničím výrazné, nápadité alebo výnimočné).
