2. Tàlagor of the Storms (5:19)
She ran in the night with her hair flowing,
fears nothing but chains.
Daughter of the wild plains where she’d been growing,
fierceness in her veins.
Along the stream she stopped to wet her lips,
a quiver stirred her hips
and then she saw him.
A black horse with shining mane,
he looked so strong but tame,
her eyes filled with wonder.
“You beauty, will you guide me to my home land?
Though you’re strong and grand I will take
good care of you”.
She clutched to his mane but he reared up wildly,
it was then that she saw
brown water-weeds tangled, she tried to break free,
her heart filled with awe.
It was a flash, all of her fears she sealed,
freed her right hand to wield the golden bridle.
As it touched the horse's mane
a deep hush engulfed the air
and the horse bowed to her.
“Oh daughter, you have won my heart with true worth.
I’m with you henceforth
and I'll take you to where you belong”.
“Wild spirit,
guardian of deep streams and rivers.
Herald of thunders, Lord of storms.
Your mane is my shelter
and your heat my strength and power.
Yours is my fierceness, awesome steed,
Water Spirit, you.
