1. Sunrise Above (1:39)
2. Fields of White (8:17)
- I am falling into darkness -
I have been running through the cold white light / Freezing as well as ablaze / Through this light that has been surrounding me / I cannot tell if for months weeks or days / I have lost all my feelings or at least I cannot tell what I feel / Nearly lost to apathy (did I try to escape my misery?) I faltered // My mind is black / I'm being dragged down / Catching no breath / I won't feel the ground // I saw an avalanche coming towards me / Fascinated I was carried away by this elemental / It felt so good until I woke from reveries of simple solutions / I had been caught amongst the filth inside one can only suspect from the out / It's difficult to escape those masses if you were not prepared, then either assimilate or die // I dug out and set up my mind / I took a profound breath and started to run / Freezing air cut my lungs and frozen thoughts cut my mind / I ran from the elemental and started to live again // Running over frozen plains / The monster gets alive again / A hail of frozen fists reaching and grinding me down / Weak red covering the snow // As I fall into the black / Into nothingness
3. On Enlightenment (8:01)
Since your birth you've been tranquillized / Made ignorant and blooded into / Idolatry for moving pictures and twisted truth / Still you're living in your holes / Consuming what is thrown to you / You coat yourselves with opium stretched out with blood // Wake up, hibernating whore / You're capable of so much more / So take the torch, open your eyes, and search for the truth / There is not much to be lost / New gardens will open up for us / Once we devour the crops of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil // To search for truth means to accept iconoclasm / For what is thought to be certain must be deconstructed / The only way to gain true freedom is through heresy / Nothing is good just because it has always been // We can make the skies collapse / For the horizon has no limits / We can change the course of history / Be the change you want to see / Let this be your wake-up call / To spread your wings and fly // Tear apart all shrines and relics / Dismantle and burn down the temples / Dig into the ashes to see what lies beneath / Each and every book we question means a world to win / The Fall of Man is a decent price for being able to see clear // To search for truth means to accept iconoclasm / For what is thought to be certain must be deconstructed / The only way to gain true freedom is through heresy / Nothing is good just because it has always been that way // Yet from afar the dead hail as iconic figures / Although we know they could impossibly have done it right / Yet from afar the dead hail as beloved icons / Although we know they could have never done it right // Paper doesn't blush, neither do airwaves / So you better question what they try to say / You've got a mind of your own, feel free to use it / Discuss your beliefs, don't dig your heels // Question authorities – no gods, no masters / No one should dare to try to enslave the fucking universe / Question authorities – no gods, no masters / Open up your minds and think for yourselves // To search for truth means to accept iconoclasm / For what is thought to be certain must be deconstructed / The only way to gain true freedom is through heresy / Nothing is good just because it has always been that way
4. (We Are All) Bearing the Sparks of Divinity (6:57)
We are all bearing the sparks of divinity / So why should we bow down and blindly obey // As we are all bearing the scars of divinity / The task is upon us to justify our deeds
5. Farewell (10:44)
So now we have reached the point whence our ways shall part / And I cannot forgive myself the role which I have had in this play / To blame it all on the circumstances is not of any solace to me / For I know I had had a choice and therefore I still wonder what might have become / If only I had decided otherwise // As the blizzards took thee from t he skies / I was not there to help thee cure thy wings / Doomed to observe from a distant post / Rusty blades I stuck into my chest // You made the desert bloom / Adorned the wastelands with the scent of life / Removed both hibernation and blindness from my lids / And planted fire into a frozen soul // Thy view led beyond the flesh / Thy presence conveyed consolation / Thy mind as the ocean so profound and sage / Within thy heart I saw the universe // As you withdrew there came the frost / Total eclipse a polar night / I then stood bare just as a tree / After all leaves have fallen in autumnal winds // As the blizzards took thee from the skies / I was not there to help thee cure thy wings / Doomed to observe from a distant post / Rusty blades I stuck into my chest // So here I stand gathering / The ashes of a former life / Wondering what will remain / While my eyes are filling with tears / The fire is gone / The ashes disperse / Cold grips my chest / As then I see the sun arise // Please forgive me my cynicism / It's just so painful to let go / As you leave I wish you well / May we both be happier when we meet again
