거의 50년이 된 앨범인데 전혀 촌스럽지 않고, 특히 Stargazer와 A Light in the Black은 지금 들어도 황홀하다. 이 앨범을 통해 안 사실은 Ritchie Blackmore is THE GOD.

Stargazer is one of the best songs ever. Also has one of the greatest guitar solos of all time. A Light in the Black is another epic track with amazing instrumentals. Tarot Woman starts off the album very well. Starstruck is very catchy. Do You Close Your Eyes is the weakest song on the album. Even that song is pretty good. That shows just how good this album is. Excellent vocals & lyrics by Dio. Ritchie's guitar work is exquisite as usual. A very short and tight album.

"Rising" is Rainbow's second studio album retained only Ritchie Blackmore and Ronnie James Dio from the previous album line-up. New members was drummer Cozy Powell, bassist Jimmy Bain and keyboard player Tony Carey.

For some classics, you listen to them as a baby metalhead and go 'wow, this is good!' and give high score. After some time, you revisit them and they turn out to be even better than the first time you've heard. This is one of those classics. Besides that I find lyrics to Do You Close Your Eyes to be kind of trite, this album is jaw dropping. Especially Stargazer. I haven't heard a song more epic than this.

전반적으로 트랙의 갯수도 적고 트랙들의 퀄리티도 조금 애매한 수준이라 이게 명반인가 싶겠지만 스타게이저 하나만으로 이 앨범의 모든 단점이 커버가 된다.

말도 안되게 좋은 앨범.

Masterpiece

리치블랙모어는 멤버교체는 멋대로할지 몰라도 밴드음악은 멋대로 만드는것같지않다. 밴드 그누구도 혼자 튀지않고 디오의 보컬과함께 꽉꽉 채워진 명곡들로 채워져있다.

This blaster is heavier than numerous pieces of stock grinders. Having troubles turning rock into metal? Well, fellow alchemists, you have wasted your whole life! All hail Ritchie. and Ronnie. and Cozy. and Tony. and Jimmy.

If I had to pick one album to take with me to a desert island, it would be Rising. In a word, perfection!

Stargazer는 정말 인간이 만들고 인간이 연주하고 인간이 부른 음악이 맞는지 의심까지 든다.

디오의 보컬은 언제 들어서 항상 매력있다. 역시 디오는 디오다.. 추천트랙은 1,5,6

레인보우의 전 앨범중 절대명작이라 생각된다. 전작이 부드럽고 말랑한 느낌의 락 이었는데 반해 헤비함과 더불어 중세적인 느낌이 아주 잘 조화 된 느낌이다. 리치, 디오, 코지의 조합만으로 만족도가 매우 크다

'Stargazer'는 못잡아도 역대 다섯손가락안에 들어가는 넘버라 생각합니다. 근데 나머지는 고만고만해요. 특히 마지막트랙이 스타게이저에 묻혀 딱히 인상에 남지 않는것도 안타깝구ㅋ

이분들 음반을 듣다보면 음악의 수준이 굉장히 높다는 느낌을받습니다. 이전작에서의 한곡한곡 부드러웠던 느낌이 헤비해진 사운드로 단단하게 감싸져있습니다. 기타솔로에서 블랙모어 특유의 동양적인 느낌 가득한 어프로치가 발군입니다. 웅장한 느낌으로 잘 꾸며진 5번트랙의 세션이 굉장히 아름답고 인상 깊으며, 6번의 기타와 키보드의 대결은 압권입니다.

딥 퍼플이 해체했을때, 리치의 레인보우는 이런 명반을 내놓았다. 디오, 코지 파웰과 함께 딥 퍼플 시절의 성취와 영광을 그대로 재현해낸 앨범으로 하드록적인 면에서 가히 리치의 절정이라고 할만한 음반. Stargazer만으로도 뛰어나지만 다른 수록곡들도 탄탄히 지탱해주고 있는 알찬 앨범!

Another sophomore album much better than the debut. Rainbow leave behind Hard Rock for pure Heavy Metal. The final track also features the first instance of constant double bass drumming! As far as I know. Still a few weaker tracks drag it down.

레인보우의 최고의 명반 Rising이다. 런닝타임이 짧은 게 흠이지만(-5) 각각의 곡 구성은 그만큼 알차다. 4번트랙까지 대차게 달리다가, 5번 6번 트랙에서 이 그룹이 가진 모든 것을 발산한다. 5번 트랙은 말할 필요도 없고, 6번 트랙 곡 중반부에 나오는 기타와 키보드 연주 배틀은 꼭 듣도록 하자.

말레이시아에서 밴드를 했던 핫싼은 어느날 신주쿠의 오래된 악기상에 나를 데려가 기타를 보여주며 어떻냐고 물었는데 그것은 리치블랙모어의 올림픽화이트 스트래토캐스터였고 나는 개쩐다며 그 자리에서 스타스트럭 몇소절을 연주헀다. 일본의 번 편집장이 아침에 일어나면 제일 먼저 리치블랙모어의 사진에 절을 한다는 이야기를 하며 우리는 같이 웃었다.

쫄깃한 맛이 더해짐. 스타게이져는 지금 들어도 웅장하다

Stargazer가 있기때문에 100점이다.

중세풍의 웅장하고 장엄한 사운드를 들려주는 명곡 "Stargazer"를 수록하고 있는 레인보우 두 번째 앨범. 디오, 리치 블랙모어, 코지 파웰, 지미 베인의 라인업은 하드락 역사상 최고라 할 만하다.

하드록의 알파와 오메가를 다 보여준 명반

마지막 두 곡 덕분에 앨범이 살아났다. 나머지가 나쁜 건 아닌데, 이들만 있었다면 분명 지금과 같은 찬사는 듣기 힘들 것이다....

Masterpieces don't rise often. Though, I must say, one rose in 1976.
