Very strong stuff, like a mix of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and David Bowie's "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" in its depiction of the rise and fall of a rock star, but not the kind of rock star anyone would actually want to be. "The Beautiful People", "Tourniquet", "Man That You Fear" and "Little Horn" are among the best tracks.

Brilliant compositions that are recorded & produced in a very very Trent way. Marilyn's voice sounds astoundingly good on just about everything. After some years, I was shocked that Tourniquet is even better than I remembered it. Safe to call this one a legendary album.

Probably Manson's best album, an amazing concept album rife with energetic hits and moody numbers. Unfortunately bloated and there is some filler, but this is as solid as the band ever got.

처음 접했을땐 충격과 공포 신선함이 무작위로 짬뽕된 느낌이었다 뮤비로 접했던 The Beautiful People는 90년대 중반 당시엔 꽤 충격.. 이후 필자는 과격함보다 그로테스크함에 눈을 드게 되는데..

반사회적 성향과 적그리스도적 테마 위에 화자를 애벌레로 비유하여, 비인간적인 사운드로 치장하고 공포스러운 소스를 부어 만들어냈습니다. 멀리서 보면 하나의 큰 가지를 이루는 곡들로, 기괴한 스타일이 확실히 자리 잡은 음악입니다. 맨슨의 창의력 넘치는 작사 실력을 엿볼 수 있습니다. 불쾌한 내용 뿐 이지만, 비유와 은유를 통한 사캐즘이 재미있습니다.

맨슨의 전성기 앨범!!! 한곡한곡 빠짐없이 모두 좋다. 기괴한 사운드가 압권이다. 6번트랙처럼 기괴한 인더스트리얼곡도 없을것이다.

인더스트리얼과 쇼크록의 믹스라고 하면 될까.. 마릴린 맨슨만의 기괴한 분위기는 정말 특별하다. Holy wood 앨범과 함께 최고로 치고싶은 앨범.

맨슨 최고의 명작이자 인더스트리얼 계의 걸작 중 하나이다. 이 앨범이 만들어내는 기괴한 분위기는 익스트림 메탈까지 다 뒤져 보더라도 쉽게 찾아보기 힘든 압도적인 아우라를 뿜어내고 있다. 또한 줄줄이 이어지는 명곡들의 행진 역시 이 작품의 가치를 입증해준다.

The Beautiful People만 듣고 샀는데, 초반엔 앨범 전체를 즐기기엔 버거웠고 약간 졸렸다. 근데 듣다보면 마릴린맨슨의 표현해내는 특유의 그로테스크함과 음산한 분위기, 구성의 치밀함에 점점 빠져든 앨범이다.

oproti debutu je výraznejšie a miestami aj tvrdšie: Industrial rock/metal. No okrem podarených piesní (hlavne prvé 2 piesne) obsahuje aj vatu (aj keď v menšom pomere)

마릴린맨슨의 음악들 중 가장 좋아하는 엘범. 가장 많이 들은 CD중 하나이다. 기괴하고 음울한 분위기가 묘한 매력으로 자꾸 끌어들인다.
