Silent Island, Black Hill, musicformessier와 같은 포스트락과 앰비언트 계열의 프로젝트를 주도하는 헝가리 뮤지션 Stvannyr는 다양한 장르에 걸쳐 본인의 음악적 지평을 넓히는 것이 목적이다. 다른 포스트락 앨범에서는 베이시스트 Ghöul과 함께 서정적인 켈틱 사운드를 들려주기도 하는데, Realm of Wolves는 유일하게 메탈의 스펙트럼을 가져와 꾸린 프로젝트이다. Vvilderness의 Vvildr, Ephilexia의 Ghöul이 참여한 본작은 Stvannyr 본인이 2019년에 발매한 Into The Woods of Oblivion이라는 EP 앨범의 트랙 타이틀과 앨범 자켓의 색채를 미리 구현하고, 숲 속의 느낌이 물씬 풍기는 제작자 본연의 어쿠스틱/켈틱 사운드 대신에 강렬한 블랙 메탈과 보컬을 얹은 셈이다. 여러모로 어쿠스틱 앨범을 만들기 위한 전초전의 성격이 강하다. 그렇기 때문에 본작은Instrumental 버전과 함께 발매되었으며, 당연히 포스트락 연주 앨범의 팬들이라면 보컬이 없는 Oblivion을 더욱 쉽고 편하게 들을 수 있을 것이다. 무자비한 블래스트비트와 찢어지는 보컬, 극한까지 스쿱된 일렉기타 사운드는 익스트림팬이라면 모두 익숙한 질감을 들려주고, 기본 리프를 감싸는 수려한 멜로디는 포스트락의 바로 그것이다. 양 쪽의 팬들을 모두 끌어들이기 보다는, 청자가 원하는 부분만 골라서 듣 ... Thank you Metal Kingdom for informing me about great albums like this. I'll have to check out their other work. Also, I'm not surprised to find out Vvildr was in this band considering how post and how high quality this is.
