Leatherhead "Violent Horror Stories" is a raw, blood-spattered blast of hardcore fury that wastes no time getting to the throat. From the opening seconds, the band locks into a relentless groove buzzsaw guitars, d-beat drums that hit like a brick fight, and vocals that sound torn straight from a basement exorcism.
The production leans deliberately gritty. Nothing feels polished; everything feels urgent. Riffs swing between crust-punk chaos and metallic stomp, giving the record a sense of movement instead of one-note aggression. There’s a street-level authenticity here, the kind that smells like sweat, rust, and cheap beer on concrete floors.
Lyrically, the horror themes aren’t theatrical so much as confrontational. The violence feels metaphorical at times, channeling paranoia, alienation, and social decay rather than just splatter-film aesthetics. When the tempo slows, it’s only to make the next explosion hit harder.
