kompilácia "A Return to the Isle of Men" je zhrnutím predošlých demo nahrávok, a to: "Isle of Men" z roku 1993 a predošlého bezmenného dema z rovnakého ročného obdobia. Aj keď kompilácia bola vydaná až po podarenom debute "Heart of the Ages", obsahuje práve staršie nahrávky a obdobie, keď sa In the Woods skutočne radili k Melodickému a Atmosférickému Black Metal -u. Niektoré piesne ako "Heart of the Ages" , "Wotan's Return" a "...in the Woods" boli v lepšom zvukovom kabáte a kvalite + zvýraznenými/upravenými nápadmi použité vo vyššie spomínanom debute. Toto je skôr pre pôvodných fans, ktorí viac uznávajú ich začiatky, ako neskoršiu tvorbu (u mňa je to práve naopak). Vokály sú prevažne blackové výkriky a rev (viac oceňujem ich neskoršie prevedenie pri radových albumoch). Nie je to úplne zlé album, ale mne osobne chýba práve pestrosť neskorších albumov a hlavne sila a kvalita nápadov.
