익스트림과 포스트락이 적절하게 섞인 이 앨범은 어두운 앨범자켓과 너무나도 잘 어울리는 음악을 들려준다. 보컬 Klas Rydberg가 탈퇴한 이후, 리드기타인 Johannes Persson이 모든 보컬을 맡아 밴드를 이끌게 되었는데, 사실상 보컬의 질감이 크게 다르지 않아 전작과 유리되는 느낌은 들지 않는다. 여전히 둠메탈에 가까울 정도로 멋진 미들템포가 전곡을 지배하고 있는데, Atmospheric Metal답게 키보드 사운드의 조절이 귀에 잘 들어오고, 은근히 블루지한 기타리프의 묵직함이 블랙/데스에서 선사해 주는 카타르시스에 못지않다. 2번 트랙인 The Weapon이 주는 압박감은 상당하다. Vicarious Redemption과 함께 10분에 육박하는 대곡들이 포진해 있지만 결코 지루할 새가 없다. 보컬의 처절한 그로울링/이펙팅과 함께 앰비언트와도 같은 극적인 악곡이 포스트록을 연상시키기도 하며, 각종 사운드를 집약한 The Sweep에서는 Steven Wilson의 색채가 묻어나기도. 그러나 전체적인 앨범에서 밴드 고유의 색채를 충분히 드러내고 있다. 익스트림 계열에 익숙하지 않은 청자라도 이러한 미들템포의 음반이라면, 게다가 어둡고 신비로운 분위기를 좋아하는 사람이라면 분명 본작에 빠져들게 될 것이다.

Pure beauty. Atmospheric as a misty forest of burnt trees with smoking piles of bones everywhere. Vicarious Redemption was the most enjoyable for me. Also, I loved their use of electronica on this one.

컬트오브루나의 입문작이 될듯. 보컬이 개인적으로 마음에 든다. 악기 하나하나가 재밌게 연주해나가는게 마음에 든다.

어둡고 음울하다. 전체적으로 느릿느릿 풀어나가지만 의미없이 질질 끄는 듯한 구성은 거의 느껴지지 않는다. 중간중간에 나오는 전자음이 차가움을 더해준다.

어두우면서 우울한 감성의 포스트메탈. 앰비언트적 요소도 상당히 강하지만 그렇다고 곡들이 늘어져서 지루하다는 느낌이 들지 않을 정도로 멋진 분위기로 청자를 사로잡는다. Amesoeurs 스타일의 어둡지만 모던한 감성을 좋아하는 분들께 강력 추천한다
