Waving at the Sky

I wasn't familiar with the band, but after hearing this album for the first time, I became a fan. A masterpiece of progressive metal, with introspective, melancholic, and emotionally charged compositions, reminiscent of Opeth at times. One of the best albums of the year, and the title track is certainly one of the best metal songs released in recent years. Incredible album.

최고 그냥 듣고 있으면 좋다

고된 길을 가고 있다. 프로그레시브 장르를 파고드는 밴드들은 참 마음에 드는 것이, 기초가 단단하다보니 신보마다 진일보한 모습, 좋은 음악을 하려는 고뇌가 멜로디와 가사에서 보인다. 본인들이 이러저러한 음악들을 들었다는 표현도 중요하나, 터질듯 말듯한 고점이 떴으면 좋겠다. 하켄처럼. 할 수 있을 거 같은데.

오페스, 하켄(피쳐링), 드림씨어터가 선도하는 최신 프록 메탈 트랜드에 정통 아트락의 향수를 뿌리고, 밴드 특유의 하모닉스를 적재적소 배치해 서정미를 극대화 시켜 나름 수작이었지만, 다소 투박하고 건조했던 전작을 드라마틱하게 뛰어넘었다. 물론 아직 오리지널리티가 다소 부족하지만, 이렇게 잘 섞는 것도 능력이라고 본다.
