Striker는 고전 헤비 메탈을 표방하는 밴드들 중 뛰어난 축에 드는 밴드가 아닌가 싶다. 앞서 발표한 Eyes in the Night와 Armed to the Teeth 두 장의 앨범으로 이들에 대한 신뢰는 이미 형성되어있었기 때문에, 세 번째 앨범을 듣는 데 대한 망설임은 없었다. 그리고 이들에 대한 신뢰는 결코 손상되지 않았다. City of Gold는 이들의 디스코그래피 상에서 최고의 작품이 될 것이라고 확신하게 되었다. 그만큼 본작에 실린 이들의 역량은 예사롭지 않을뿐더러 초기 헤비 메탈의 향수를 그대로 담아내어 만족스럽다. 고전 헤비 메탈의 노선을 충실히 지속하면서도 멜로디 라인을 한층 강화한 본작은 위에서 언급했듯이 최상의 퀄리티다. 귀가 제대로 달려있는 메탈라이프에 충실한 리스너치고 Start Again이나 타이틀 곡이 뿜어내는 매력을 거부할 이는 없을 것 같다. 비슷한 부류의 밴드들 중에서 멜로디 메이킹 면에서 손에 꼽히는 Bloodbound에 거의 필적할 만큼 본작에서 발휘된 Striker가 짜낸 멜로디 라인은 환상적이다. 다만 후반부 트랙이 다소 약한 단점이 있지만, 전반적으로 Striker가 이 분야에서 톱 수준의 장인이라는 사실은 명백해 보인다.
