세 번째 앨범이 나올 동안 Moonspell은 변했다. 이들의 데뷔 앨범인 Wolfheart는 Black Metal 성향을 띤 Gothic Metal을 지향하는 작품이었다. 음울한 분위기에 중세미가 잘 어우러진 음악을 하던 밴드였다. 그러나 Moonspell은 후속작인 Irreligious에서 데뷔 앨범에서 보여주었던 고전적인 고딕 메탈에서 바로 탈피해 버렸다. Wolfheart에서 보여준 이들의 고딕적인 센스는 보통이 아니었다. 그랬기 때문에 이들의 변모는 충격적이었다. 갑작스럽게 Moonspell은 뉴웨이브를 추종하는 행태를 보여 이들에게 기대를 걸고 있던 팬들에게 당혹감을 안겨주었다. Irreligious의 후속작인 Sin/Pecado는 전작에서 깔아놓은 레일 위를 그대로 달리고 있다. 본작은 전반적으로 Irreligious와 상당부분 닮아있는 작품인데, 이 앨범에 추가된 것은 멜로디 라인이 좀더 현대적인 느낌을 살리고 있다는 점과 리듬감이 좀더 살아있다는 점이다. 이제 세 번째 앨범을 발표할 즈음에는 Moonspell이 언제 고전적인 고딕 메탈 앨범을 발표했는지 알 수 없을 정도로 멀어졌다. 이 부분이 다소 아쉽지만 그래도 이들은 데뷔 앨범을 좋아했던 사람들도 납득할 만큼 좋은 앨범을 만들었다. 고전적인 고딕 메탈의 외양은 포기했을지라도 Moonspell은 고딕적인 우울하면서도 칙칙한 정서를 잘 담아냈다 ... good album by Moonspell, however, it did not surpass the quality of the second album Irreligious

Plagued by inconsistency. Plenty of fantastic tracks, equally as many that are quite poor. Definitely worth it for the career highlights though.
