띠리릭 띠리릭~~Inquisition 입니다. 우주블랙이라고 불리는 이번 앨범에서 무언가에 홀리게 만드는 휘항찬란한? 구성하며 예상을 빗나가게 만드는 변칙스런 맛에 듣는 앨범입니다. 이 앨범으로 또다른 팬층을 확보하게 됨과 동시에 국내외 반응도 상당히 좋았던 앨범입니다. 보컬은 낮고 건조함을 가득안은채 세계로 뻗어가는 펼쳐놓고 어중간한 마무리보다 기타파트가 확실히 키를 잡아가면서 능동적인 레코딩도 한 몫 했겠지만, 블랙메틀의 시선을 자신만의 또다른 시선으로 만들었다는데 더 큰 의미를 두는 편입니다.

전 작에서 슬슬 무언가 변환점이 필요하다고 적었는데 밴드도 그렇게 느꼈나보다. 이들의 사운드에선 좀처럼 찾아보기 힘든 속도감이 앨범 전반적으로 유지된다. 그리고 기괴함과 광활함이 몇 배나 더해졌다.

Alien Black Metal..이라고 말장난치는 이유는 아무래도 이 앨범이 내뿜는 다른 행성의 외계 문명을 연상케하는 분위기에다 외계인스러운 보컬 때문이리라.

우주적 신비로움을 블랙메탈로 풀어내는 것의 극단적인 해답. 다만 음악적 색체에서 나오는 그 신비로움이 음악 그 자체의 텍스트에만 국한되는 부분은 좀 아쉽기도 하다.

어디에 내놓아도 전혀 꿀리지 않는 양질의 블랙메탈 명반. 최근 Season of Mist 와의 계약 소식이 들린만큼 차후의 행보가 기대된다.
